Keep going slowly. Once it starts to leak good it will get easier as the chunks will wash out. When it pees decently, I give it a good dose of cleaner in distilled water and let ir work for a few days - drain and do it again. You are removing like 40 years of build up, 20 minutes isn't going to fix that.

I'm currently battling the same problem. I chose the route of using some CLR to soak up in that area. I also use a curved pick to get up inside. I liked the doubled up wire in a drill that another member suggested.

Anyway, it helps soften things up. Chunks picked right out and I've been running CLR through my engine using a drill powered recirculating pump. Flush it out thoroughly when done.

The wire worked the best for me! I will give the CLR a try

I figured it was a combination of rust, dirt, possibly stop leak, radiator Gunk clogging everything up. Good luck! I did it on the previous 40 build and had good results.
