Aluminum might be to soft for the heat on egr causing it to leak id prefer steal

Thoughts:
Label 1FZ-FE or 3FE.
The top right is symmetric, so if you don't want to bling then turn it inside.

I have a set somewhere between my crap in 2 storage units and 3 states, but chances of me finding them is slim so I would definitely buy another set. While I do like the aesthetic you have going on there, I would think raw aluminum or a hardcoat would be nice. I hate how black anodizing starts to look purpleish with time and heat.

These will likely be raw or powder coat.

Do you think the former would have better/longer-term sealing capability due to its construction for O2 sensors?

The "correct" gaskets are multi-layered steel that appears to be stainless and they do not break down like the O2 sensor gaskets can. Scraping off a disintegrated O2 sensor gasket is a pain....

Worth mentioning to whomever is fabbing these. I have a 97 80 series and due to a cheap parts store rebuilt power steering pump (brand 3f) I've had the pleasure twice of having the pump blow and allow me to realize there is a possible need for a block off plate for the power steering pump if your were really far out or on a trip where parts aren't readily available. The fact that it runs off the timing chain makes it where you can't remove it without losing oil and risking engine contamination and if your keep it attached and run it long enough to seize up it would take out something in the engine (or is there something simple in didn't even think of on this). I had a buddy make me one that's not pretty but works. Seems like something 80s guys (and gals) might buy for just in case. With this setup it seems if anything goes wrong in the power steering system it could pose a problem.

These will be nicer than my PAIR plates I carved out of plate steel with my grinder. I did use the proper gaskets though!

I have an aluminum block off on my 3FE for the past two years. Looks brand new.

Sadly, I too am in L.A. and can't remove my EGR BUT if you're going to keep coming up with all of this cool stuff, I have an idea for you. Since most of us have "less than ideal" paint, how about a Wit's end vinyl wrap? (Seriously!) Think about the free advertising you'd get with a couple hundred Wit's End-mobiles roaming the country. You could offer them in a couple of different colors with company graphics.

Including you...that would be like...two people that would do that :P

I'd roll with it but it will cost you...

Or just buy the OEM pump once and be done for another 20 years? :meh:
Actually I did after the 2nd one went. Got the block off made as a favor off the bad pump. If you blow a hose or lose fluid due to aNY situation you would still have an issue. Just a idea. I've already got one

Just stamp the old toyota logo in it. Last time i checked, it wasn't registered anymore

Yeah I'm probably in. I'm hoping to pull the intake and clean everything as I replace vacuum lines this summer, perfect time for something like this.
