Anyone try one of these out yet? They're at ElementFire.com and on sale right now.

A working fire extinguisher is part of the TLCA's SOPs.

Howdy 100 crowd. I will have these in stock at www.huddexpo.com in the next few days. They are ready to order on my site. Let me know if you have any questions. I will post back once I check the size vs. the glove compartment, center console, and work with @NLXTACY to see how they fit his FEM.

This is a super unique high performance extinguisher that should work well for all of us. Not pressurized, smaller, etc.

info here too. - Element E50 Fire Extinguishers Now Available - HuddExpo

I really wanted to like this extinguisher but from the videos I saw you have to point it so close to the fire, is that right? whereas traditional extinguisher you can be 10 feet or more as you sweep.

Good point. I'm assuming that, since they say the residual "cloud" prevents flareups post extinguishing, you could start the extinguisher from a distance and then move towards the fire since it would be putting it out at a molecular level as you moved along. Could be wrong, but this is what I gathered.

In that video, it does appear as if you need to be very close, but that is not necessarily the case. The interesting thing about these extinguishers is that through its own chemical reaction the Element extinguisher fights a fire by releasing a gas. This gas attaches itself to the oxygen surrounding the fire robbing its ability to stick to the chain of combustion. Basically, making the oxygen unusable to the fire. The gas is also heavier than the oxygen and can surround the fire along with sort of "damping" it down, if that makes sense. I have heard of people starting back at 20 feet or so, getting the powder jet going and then walking towards the fire sweeping it away as they get closer very effectively putting out the fire. It behaves similar to conventional extinguishers, just much safer and effective, in my opinion.

Hope this helps.

I bought one during their Black Friday sale, and it arrived yesterday. It fits nicely in the glove box on my LC100. Much easier to stow than traditional extinguishers.
X2 + 1

Both me & the wife got one for our cruisers. I ordered an extra $2 bracket to mount it somewhere but when they arrived much smaller than I imagined I just tossed them I the glove box like @jake9

It fits nicely in the glove box

I am happy to hear that. I will be running a Mud special buy on Friday so keep your eyes out if you want one.

Very cool.. I actually want one for the kitchen.

Not sure if others out there realize it doesn’t leave a huge mess / residue like traditional extinguishers

Thanks for the info. @LC4LIFE.

Nice to see a Mud vender offer this piece of kit.

A better mousetrap is always welcome.

Hi everyone,

I have everything in stock although with some of the pre-orders I expect to run out of this batch by Monday or Tuesday. More of the E50's are on the way and will be here late next week so get in on the deal and I will ship as quickly as possible. The only thing out of stock right now is the roll bar mount. They will arrive Monday.

Fits easily in the console, glove box, and with the included clip its easy to secure it.

Let me know if there are any questions. More info here - Element E50 Fire Extinguisher

Order placed! Looking forward to adding this bit of safety kit to my rig! Thanks @LC4LIFE for bringing this to my attention :)

Element has a 10% off forum code with free shipping over $100 if you PM "element fire". You have to buy 2, but I put one in the glove box and 1 in the rear cargo.

I can match this for sure. You save more than 10% with my free shipping deal, buying one, but if someone’s interested in more than one let me know and I’ll work it out.

Even better! Thanks for upping the offer. Your deal definitely makes sense if you only want one. I would imagine that most people only want one.

I bet this LC owner wishes he had one...

I drank the Kool aid and bought a bunch of these during their black Friday sale. I'm going to put one in my Cruiser and one in my fast car and give the rest to some safety conscious relatives for Christmas. I think I'll still keep the traditional one in the Cruiser for extra measure. I hope I never need any of them.

Thanks for the orders guys. I ran out of stock, but more are on the way. Roll Bar Mounts and extra clips in stock as well.

Thanks again,

David
