I knew there was a way to easily get wire through the firewall from the passenger side, but didn’t expect to find this little guy hiding under there - much less have to cut into it!

Just punch a tiny hole in it. Just big enough to push the wire through.
i used that exact same "thing" to route auxiliary wires through. I actually think that's exactly what it's for

“Thing” is right - one of those “once you see it…” moments.
I’m running 4awg wire through with a tech flex sleeve, and it’s looking like it might need some more extensive surgery. We’ll see what it can handle.

I didn't cut it either. I did the punch a hole method and some vaseline to help pull the cable through. Bought some RTV thinking I would need to help seal the hole, but actually ended up not using it.
