Hello to all!

This is the start of my attempt to create my version of a 4 door Banderaite. I have been busy acquiring parts from various sources/businesses and individuals -Dan-Wimberly4x4, Spector Off-Road, Kling-On and Marks Off-Road.net to name a few. So for those of you who have given me the opportunity to buy parts/fj45, thank you very much.

This is what I have started with:
'67 fj45 truck w/no bed
'84 fj60 chassis
2 extra set of '67 doors
L & R complete A-pillar-B-pillar and rocker panel
And a few other parts that I'm waiting for.

Time frame 1 year
Cost: Probably too much

Here are a few pics to start the show

your welcome ... now get to work :steer:

It's Saturday and I have a lot to do today! I will be getting the left side a-pillar/rocker panel/b-pillar cleaned up. I also plan to mark and cut both rockers and doors.

Tomorrow I will weld up the shorten rockers and doors as well as cut and lay out the jig for the new cab. It will be very important that the jig be set up prior to cutting up the cab. Once the cab is secured to the jig, I will brace the cab both from the inside as well as the outside of the cab to the jig for more stability. I really only have one shot at making the right marks to cut so I will be measuring and re-measuring and then checking one more time before I cut. I will post up some pics of both rockers and doors prior to cuts to get your thoughts.

This should be great

awsome!!!!!!! i will be doing a similar 4 door project wit my fj40 soon im collecting parts and getting ready to stretch my frame. i will start a build thread as soon as i start. which depends on the weather so hopefully soon unless it snows a bunch or somthing.

What's up Tucker?
Yep he gave me a price and I jumped on it.
I'm located on the north side of San Antonio-281&1604.

What do u guys think about the rear door being 30 3/4" wide? I've looked at Paul's Toyotona build and he has 26 1/2" width door and I'm thinking that might be a little to small for a rear door.

easyest and cleanest would be to cut the rear doors down till the vent window is gone.... most new crew cabs have a smaller rear door .... I would do full sized doors. you can toss any doors on it but the kick back for the windshield would look ood

Ok let's see what u guys think. It's gonna be a complete one piece full functioning window. I got a 30 1/2" wide door now and I believe the extra inches will make a big difference for bigger people getting in and out.

COOL ... keep the pics comin

A hot rodder told me he staggered the seams on splices or extensions to hide the seam and to be stronger like a square wave- vertical, horizontal to right, vertical, horizontal to left-- It would seem like more work but I could see how it would avoid the warpage in a single seam-- any thoughts?

Lookin' good. Keep it up!

Kief, you're probably correct on that.
The problem with trying to cut and weld these doors using that technique is that they are stamped metal on the inside so there is no panel to cover up the - vertical, horizontal to right, vertical, horizontal to left- type of welds. I'm trying to make the inside of the door look as if it was never cut, so I'm trying my best to match up the indentions.

I'll post up some pics with all the welds done to give you an idea of what I'm trying to achieve.

I really like what I'm seeing so for... a stretched 40 or a 45 extra or 4 door is a dream... My hat's off to ya!

The difficult part for us was the centre b piller, ours is wider and stronger than stock, also the rear window on the pickup is at a different height form the windows of the 40, we custom made the rear back windows to be at the same level as the side windows, our plan was to make it look as factory as possible,
Underneath this pile is a complete 4 door cab for a 60/80 conversion if anyone wats one to play with.
Sorry I do not have any photo´s left of the build due to the escalating crime down here.
