I have a set of early-80s doors that came from Australia, and I need to replace the rubber around the window on one of them. (See the dark piece called "run" in the picture below.) The door in the drawing is from an early 70s model, but the Australian doors have the little triangular window, too.

I haven't been able to find anything yet. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Caddisfly, Try an auto glass shop that does custom and HotRod glass. They should be able to find these "Felts" for you. Its been a while since I was a Auto glass installer but the old parts should be available. Look up CRL or StanPro witch is a division of Cooper tire and rubber. They make all the replacement Glass rubbers for industrial and early flatglass installs. Also take a sample if you go to a glass shop.

Found some more info on channels. Many different applications, not vehicle specific but universal. Some are rigid or soft rubber, chrome bead or non. CCOT uses similar product for their kits. You just need to know your dimensions. Not sure on pricing but probably cheaper than $80.00. Ive done several Cruisers with this type of product and countless StreetRods and Customs.

Same doors, different time zone

I thought my car was the ugly duckling, but Caddisfly saves the day :)
Interestingly enough, I have the same doors on my 1975 FJ43 and currently building them up. I need to change all rubbers, and certainly those for the triangular windows too. Im looking at new rubbers on cool cruisers, but I cant seem to find the exact ones. Any help ?
So how rare is that door setup?

Still a good number and still available. 68105-90303 x2, they are $61.63 each with the MUD discount. Shoot me an email or a PM if you want to order a set.

I've been looking into beaded window channel for my '78. I suspect that your door has the same window channel width and depth in the door. I found a company that makes two window channels that have the dimensions that should work. They are sending me samples of each. If one or both work and look clean then I will post the results of a full install with photos in my ROTW. For the record, I really don't like the Toyota window channels. I feel you can get superior beaded channel from the right vendor.
