Drooping Visors? $9/Repair - Photos

2022 Update. :) Small variation here if you don't want to mess with the magnets "above" the headliner. I duct-taped a piece of flat bar steel above the headliner to give a large surface area for the magnets to zero in on. Then, on the visor, I put one magnet inside the visor and two on the outside to keep them all in place. Done. You do have the two magnets visible on the outside of the visor when it's down but that doesn't bother me in the slightest. Just thought I'd throw this out there. So happy I found this thread. And yes, Ace Hardware still has these in 3-packs.

I also have an update. I ended up removing my 80 visors and replacing them with some cheap LS430/LS400 visors I found on eBay. I have a video rear view mirror so this worked out better because the LS430/LS400 visors are shorter in width. Plus, no droop!

Hey 11 year old Mod, thanks. This works perfectly. I keep my 95 LC around because I can't seem to let it go. It's not my primary source of transportation, so it doesn't get out that much. it's 28 years old with less than 150,000 miles on it. But every time I got in it, that damn visor droop was the only thing that bothered me. Not anymore. The thing snaps up high and tight now, and stays there. Thanks again.

Genius! I used two big, fat, rectangular magnets from Ace, and they were only $7. My only concern is how long the tape will stick to the headliner. Duct tape didn't work at all, so I have masking tape in there now.

I've just picked up another 80 and am going to go the LS430/LS400 visors route on this one. Do you happen to know the year range that will work or is
all years of those two Lexus models? Thanks.

It was late 90s. My son also has a 1998 SC300 and it is eerie how similar his interior is to the 80.
