Hey guys

receiving new ujoints tomorrow and will be replacing them on front and rear driveshaft.
Anything else I should keep in mind to baseline/ do as I already have the DS off?

Grease ujoints, take slip yoke apart/ clean/ regrease, ...anything else you recommend?

Would you disassemble the drive shaft and clean out/ regrease the yoke while having it out?

Any other parts/ seals/ gasket/… I could do along the way?

I'm not saying you're an idiot, but I am an idiot.

When you take apart the slip yoke, as mentioned, mark the pieces so they go back together the same way. If you screw that part up - keep in mind that the u-joints must be in exact alignment when you slide them back together. I messed this up the first time around - manifests as a high speed vibration usually obvious above about 50 mph.

Just curious how much you are into all the U-joints and everything for the rear? When I did the research for all this it seemed "cheaper" and easier to just get the new driveshaft.

Which was $342 during the memorial day sale.

CruiserPatch sells OEM front and rear kits for ~$150, that's what I ordered and just received 2 days ago.
Will clean the current shaft, perhaps give it some paint, buff mating surfaces, ... and put it back in.

A pair of U joints for the rear shaft from Toyota with the current sale pricing is $88.50 w/ free shipping. A lot cheaper than the whole driveshaft.

But new driveshaft would be a lot easier, as you said.
