I've searched through Ih8mud, several other cruiser forums
I have the typical 80 dreaded p/s leak.
I started with reservoir as it used to froth and bubble, it doesn't froth or bubble now.
I replaced the (high pressure?) hoses that go in/out of resi.
Still leaks
I was going to start looking at a p/s box issue or another hose. However now my confusion lays at this; today I went out and it was whining, like a low fluid whine. But it had a full resorvoir. The two hoses going into resorvoir had fluid seeping from the top like they'd been over pressurized. What am I looking at, a pump issue?
I flushed it a while ago and run ATF

When you replaced the hoses and refilled the fluid did you bleed the system? If not there could be air in the lines that could cause the whining noise. There is really good trouble shooting and bleeding process info in the FSM. If you haven’t downloaded it yet there are FSMs in the resources section. They might be for US market but I can’t imagine the PS system is that much different in Aus.

Where exactly is the leak?
Did you replace the dual crush washer for the high pressure hose union?
Did you replace the small O-ring behind the suction port/pipe on the side of the PS pump?

If you don't know where the leak is, start with washing the entire area off, let it dry or blow/dry it off, then
start the engine (do not drive), and watch for where the leak first appears.

Start from top, first on the reservoir itself, then the hoses, hose/pipe connections, the pump, and the steering gear box.

I didn't do a full proper bleed but now I'm thinking I'll start with that, I just bled by using a syringe to get it all out of reservoir, turning the wheel etc, instead of draining via the fsm.

I have washed the entire area down, started it and have not been able to source the leak. It only starts after actually driving it. Then by the time I've done that, I've got fluid everywhere. The resorvoir lines, the box area and all down the bottom near the steering pump.
I will start from the res again, which is new, the hoses are new from that but I'll go from the ones underneath that go to the pump and trace from there thanks

You can start the engine (parked) and turn the steering wheel left, right, shut it down, look for the leak. Turning the steering wheel (parked) will increase the pressure in the PS system.
