Question

so I have my axle all apart and things look pretty good I just found a full axle from a 85 pickup. Are the dimensons of that axle the same as my LC axle and if it is can i just put it under my cruiser in tact and have my LC front axle be my spare. AM I CRACKED or will this work just fine. Let me know

You will have to outboard your springs to mount the pickup axle. Just swap the birfields and outers onto your LC axle. Being a '69, I think you're past the ball-and-claw, tracta-joint, or whatever you want to call them era. I guess the appropriate answer would be to search, but I'm feeling charitable. Good luck.

i have researched that I was just being lazy i would always rather type than measure. Switching everything out is just as easy i was just hoping for a dirrect fit. Thanks for the help.

parts got here

Well my fenders and quarters finally made it along with my now radiator and painless wiring harness so it is going to start going back together at least to the point that I can get my measurements right for my motor and transmission placement. I think i read on here somewhere that I will need to use a 2 inch body lift to put the 350 in and get the clearances that I need. I know someone has done the 350 vortec swap on here i need to read the tech links again just to get it right hopefuly i can get it done mechanically by july so that I can have a little bit of a summer ride. Anyways I willl get soe pictures up here pretty quick and let you guys see what I have going on. Also if anyone has a housing for the blowermotor i need one badly. Hope someone can help

Yeah i have some more pictures of it i just have to resize them to get them up. The motor is out and going into my uncles 71 40 I am going to put in a vortec 350 i have recently decided. The front axle is out getting the disk conversion from a 85 pickup. I need to mock up my motor with an old block and my transmission so that I can get the angles right for my springover and the cut and turn done as well. once that is all dont I am going to sandblast everything and POR 15 the frame and cut the cowl from my tub and replace it with a donor from a 75(mines a little tweaked). just right click your pic and select the size you want. No muss no fuss. For a MS product it works really well.
