Does your FJ40 door jamb look like this? (1 Viewer)

Looking at this 10,000 mile example, original paint, 1979 FJ40 I am curious about what was going on at Toyota that resulted in the somewhat chewed look on the door jamb where the door meets the striker plate.

It looks like they just nibbled this out by hand at the factory. I have seen some that look better than others. This one is not so perfect. How does yours look?

That is a welded seam. Part of the FJ40 charm.

I had to go out and look at my 1980, yep looks just like that. Like at the last minute they decided to change the door lock mechanism and hacked that solution. A little beyond the normal charm in my opinion, cannot believe I never noticed that.
