Do TRD OR Wheels fit on stock gx460?

Just wanted to add my appreciation for this thread which helped me decide on used 4R wheels instead of the TRD Pro wheels.

In addition to the other benefits mentioned on the thread, the wheels have a much more appropriate looking offset and are now flush with the fender edge.

This is my GX at time of purchase (stock) and as it is now with:

4Runner OR wheels
Falken Rubitrek AT 265/70 17 tires
Cornfed 1.5" front and 1.0" rear lift
(still on the way: Lexus center cap decals)

Are you finding the ride to be a wee bit better with the smaller 17" rim and taller side walls?

Ride quality feels essentially the same, honestly. Actually the one thing that is noticeably better is that the truck doesn't seem to "track" in pavement ruts like it did on the stock wheels and tires (admittedly those were fairly clapped out original equipment tires with 29k on them).

Tramlining is usually a function of tread pattern. Tread wear can make it worse.

I didn't notice any significant ride change when going from 18" all seasons to 17" all terrain on my GX but I did from 19" performance tires to 18" on my Golf R. Even that one was pretty mild, and the 19" tires had hardly any sidewall.

I added these metal decals to the center caps, after pulling off the Toyota logos (clipped on). The silver trim rings don't quite fit with these 65mm decals so I removed them; I actually like the look without them. They ship from Dubai but they came pretty fast.

Eh maybe. I think there's enough silver going on to match them as they are though. Also I'm cheap as hell!

I am keeping the stock suspension on mine and was looking to place these wheels with 265/70/17 tires on.
Any input would help since I recently bought a GX460 and I have not upgraded wheels in on my past vehicles.

I’m not sure of the offset. I traded the vehicle for a new Land Cruiser. The TRD Pros bolted right on without spacers. I think you will need the TRD lug nuts.

The wheels bolt on with no issues and were 7 pounds lighter each then the Lexus wheels. Of course made that back up with the tires but was pretty much a wash at the end of the day.

Thanks for the info! Did you go with a spare as well? Can you get away with the spare being the oem lexus 18” wheel?

Yes I also went with a spare but I am old school and do a 5 tire rotation. Last fall tore a sidewall so lost a tire and they stopped making the AT3W almost a year ago. And was in the middle of nowhere not many options available and needed another spare, not going into the places I go without one. Once I got back I did find one in Texas to put back in rotation. That is another reason I like 5 of the same. Sure enough they will stop making the exact tire you buy as soon as you buy them. Especially if you like them.

The AT4W is a bit larger than the AT3W and many have said the 265/70/17 don't fit in the spare location with a hitch. I have the OEM hitch and the fit is tight with the AT3W. Bit of a trick getting it in and out but it can be done. With other tires you would have to read the threads and even then it can vary some.

To get mine into place I have to line up the tabs on the hitch on the groves in the tire. The struggle is real LOL.

put the TRD wheels on with Falken Wildpeak A/T 4s. Couple zip ties is all it took. Completely changed her look
