Well....the "speed" i'm referring to is in the polling frequency for PIDs rather than connection time. Also, the Carista is fine for connecting to the "Generic OBD" module. Connects as you described.

But connecting to Module E is what takes time because of the extended scanning on connection. I'm considering resetting all my data, because I'm wondering if you don't poll all the sub modules in the E module, if they won't poll at connection every time. If so, that would speed up connecting to E. I know that i did a full scan of each sub module at the beginning. I can't remember if it let you break out each sub module or not, I just remember having to scan multiple things before it was all ready. All that to say it's really not that bad, takes about 15 seconds to do scan and launch the dashboard.

Getting the new Veepeak BLE+ is to see if once in the dashboard, the displays update faster. Currently with my Carista, it's 2-4 seconds on updates.

Oh my bad, i had meant to report the BLE connectivity process much earlier and thought you were referring to that.
Just noting that i never once had to pair anything at all and the unit is always ready on startup, no issues at all and its fairly cheap.
I think that unit is the way to go.

As far as looking into anything else ive done nothing outside of finally getting your dashboard loaded after wasting that afternoon looking for a prompt within settings>menu, they have a settings page, a menu INSIDE of that, and a "preferences" sub menu in there as well. I kinda got too annoyed at the app and myself to play in there beyond that LOL. Ive been too busy to even play with it let alone poke around.

Your V2 did have a random gauge floating up top on my iphone 11 pro , standard display (not zoomed) that i screenshotted.
Anyone else on iOS seen this?

I was wondering earlier where you were playing with things and assuming your rocking android form your screenshots.
Thanks for your serious geek out on this BTW LX, specially with AHC readouts. You are right that the refresh cycle needs to be low to make sense of it.
Aside from the 500HZ auto damping whatever its doing, I have always been annoyed by that in techstream myself.
Would be huge if you can get anywhere close to real time or s by s readings.
I want to know whats going on when i get a random drop at full lock left on my truck, although i have a strong inclination to suspect its that wacky sensor that i have yet to replace. Currently dealing with other warranty work on the LX at the dealer and getting my rear cam replaced. One thing at a time until 2023 is up with the warranty but either way they do not want to touch AHC unless its completely failed even though i am on very good terms with the dealership and only the foreman touches my truck. Recirc door functioning and all after my 4th visit.

Hmm...that's not even the right dashboard. That's @TeCKis300 dashboard. I wonder if posted the wrong file. I know that one of my dashboards is the one with the "floating" because i was moving it out of the way to get to the other PID when testing.

Well damn, must be my fault then. I thought yours had 2 pages. I cloud and local loaded both of your files and i guess it pulled both.
I swear i have made a good living building technology infrastructure systems for a decade and half.

But i look more like this right now LOL:

So my first link in currently post 48 has the OBD module dashboard (in my files I now call that "trip") and that one has my new edited "Trip" dashboard and probably a messed up version of Teck's dashboard, the one you pictured.

I now have them separated on my google drive so ill provide two cleaner links here.

Trip Dashboard

AHC Dashboard

If you downloaded both my previous two files, you should have ended up with 3 dashboards total. A borked up Teck dashboard, and then my Trip and AHC dashboards.

Also, I've done all my editing on the iPhone (11 Pro Max). Not my ideal medium but I'm not going to put the effort/cost into making a better way to do it, since it's probably pretty much at the limits of what you can do within the OBD Fusion framework.

M1 mac can virtualize iOS now (ARM architecture) and im not sure about developer options for OBD where you can get it on a bigger screen.
I will have to grab my wifes MB Air and see whats up when i have time. I have never dealt with Xcode, Swift or iOS development either though.

Im making too many promises here in this thread but in case you are curious...

Please share this dashboard.... I want.
Nothing earthshaking here. The unlabeled gauge in the bottom right is run time since start.
i added .jpg as t wouldnt upload a stg.
just delete that

Loading yours on a Galaxy S10 the backgrounds are jacked up. I'll dick around with them for a little bit and see if I can get them to look right.

That's definitely cool, but certainly falls under the too much effort and money since I don't have any Macs, even though all my tablet/phones have been Apple.

OBD Fusion / OBD Link has a windows app for displaying the dashboards, so I would bet you can get that and build the dashboards there and transfer to the mobile apps. The config files are just xml, so I suspect they have designed them to work across platforms. I just don't care enough to spend the $35 to find out.

In my OBD dongle research, I found a open source community developing essentially a Techstream type platform for Ford/Mazda called FORScan (terrible name, only one vowel away from a less pleasant word). If there was something more like that, I'd be more interested in deeper dives. Because Techstream is readily hackable, I'm sure that won't happen.

It would be nice if OBD Fusion had a little more flexibility, things like:

Building displays (and warnings) based on multiple PIDs.
Allowing custom icons and dashboard backgrounds. (it would be cool if you could overlay a small jpg with 4 displays, or one display with 4 PIDs).
Buttons/Indicators built in rather than having to be faked out of other displays
...i'm sure there's more

Wow, that is very messed up. Seems like multiple issues. For some reason your background colors are all off. So in my dashboard my "Bevel" is the color that is overriding all your screens. So it seems like your phone is making the bevel full size. In my dashboards they should be effectively disabled with values of 0 for both width and flatnless. I would start there. I bet your Bevel is at max settings. This is under the style menu for each display. I would start by fixing that and where that leaves you.

Also, do you have the most up to date software? On the "trip" dashboard, the real time MPG meter is missing completely, which is a "arc gauge". I think that's a fairly new feature in the App, so possibly you have an outdated version of the app.

haha..yeah,, the forum is smarter than that. Easiest way is to put it on google drive and make sharing set to "anyone with the link". Then post the link.

I was wonder what your gauge was...at first i thought maybe some sort of angle sensor.

It's up to date. Android version must be a little bit behind the iPhone version.

That sucks, i don't have an Andoid phone, so someone else will have to carry that torch. Strange that Teckis's dashboard translates from being built on Android fine to the iPhone. I think early on he mentioned he used Android. Looks like Grinchy's used an iPhone, so I think you are the first to download my dashboard to a Android device. I'm shopping for a Grom vLine 2 so hopefully it will get worked out, I'd love to be able to run OBD Fusion native on the OEM screen without having to do a ton of reprogramming.

So i wonder if it's the PID that's missing of the arc gauge function. When you hit "add a display" is arc gauge and option? And furthermore, does the PID exist? On iPhone it's under "Fuel -> Instant Fuel Economy"

In answer to the Q about does the 1st gen have Engine Oil Temperature.
No.
This is after a complete rescan.

I'
Curious what folks’ Knock Correction readings are and if there is anything to look for/range to be in. I know generally higher is better but would like to understand more about this value if anyone has input.
I've only monitored when towing.

Highway driving mine varies on regular unleaded when towing. 12-14, ish. If I run a couple tanks of premium it seems to stay closer to 18. But again I've only monitored it when towing, because the 5.7 has so much power the rest of the time I don't notice.

I had a Android head unit on my f250 and ran torque pro on it. Best thing ever... alarms when Temps hit certain limits, when engine oil and coolant diverged beyond a specific value...

Wish Fusion had alarm capabilities.

Will do. I believe the Veepeak BLE is on v1.4, so probably same hardware as the Carista, so in theory should be close to an apples to apples comparison. Amazon allowed me to order it, but i don't think it's in stock currently. We will see how long it takes to get one.

Let me know what adapter you land on? Got to trying your AHC dashboard and turns out my OBD dongle is too old and doesn't support 1.4 functions. Really want to get at that AHC dashboard!

Amazon says my Veepeak BLE+ gets here today! I’m only mildly optimistic it will be any better than the Carista unit. Based on the speed at which Techstream updates and the fact that the “Trip” dashboard updates reasonably fast, I don’t think the OBD dongle is the limiting factor.

I also recently got a VX Dian Nano. I’ve only hooked it up onece to test it. It was faster feeling, but I didn’t spend a lot of time. So possibly my slow texhstream comments aren’t valid with a more modern OBD interface. Either way, I’ll test it out tomorrow for sure.

Good luck. I had an issue with the Veepeak. I ended up returning it and getting the Vgate iCar Pro, which works great.

My Veepeak issue was that sometimes it just didn't show up when trying to connect. After I returned it I read a comment on Amazon that the plastic housing is a bit too long so sometimes it won't seat right and you may need to shorten the plastic length around the pins to ensure it seats correctly.
