Artillery order, will be here thursday the 17th. I think maybe you guys will like the PETG Carbon Fiber Mix. You can look these filament up on Artillery's Website.

I will share what i have coming from US manufacturer (KVP) in a sec. @TeCKis300 you need anything for your baby (the MK3S) you just let me know the address boss.

Wow, that's some bulk order! Wishing you all the success as you dive into this new endeavor.

I'm good on filament but thank you!

Prints look like they're coming out.

Thanks boss! Much appreciated.

And yes a few came out, I am awake now. My roommate turned off the failed ABS print for me while I was sleeping, turns out the heat/AC vents are aimed at that printer, leading to cooling/wind drafts that caused the corner to uplift and RIP from there. I will be building enclosures soon for easier ABS prints, and also maybe not be an idiot and throw the 1 ABS job to the printer that is most affected by the AC/Heat vents.

Need to run to warehouse to pick up 2 more desks today then back to slicing another test batch. Got a new printer kit (voron trident) being delivered tomorrow so I am adding another desk, and will resume tonight. Exciting but busy week for me!! Will keep you posted on my plans for mud.

Dual color one is from running out of grey mid print.

Last one is current test slice, got her down to 1 day print time with less supports and minor tweaks to code.

looking good. when are you ready for orders?

I'm definitely interested! The stock cup holders blow.

My Artillery filament (list above) is coming in thursday, i will unpack it go over color options and i am aiming for shipping starting April 1st, to give me time to learn/perfect ABS/Polycarbonate/PETG prints, and maybe even TPU to give it a rubbery feel.

I am redoing my setup to prepare for automation package i have coming for 11 of my machines/preparing for enclosures/filament shipments coming in. Also have a Voron Trident (got here today! i need to unbox and try, but also need to print a bunch of parts to complete the kit in ABS). Sample prints from the COREXY(s) will come next week, and these have linear rails so they will be better quality right out of the print bed.

My youtube is Bao The Builder, you are welcome to spy on me. I work with cameras on a lot, as it is a good way to work remotely/collaborate with anyone.

There are definitely things i like about it but i think mud can 100% improve it; i am thinking future versions will bring back the "adjustable cup size" feature. The neat thing about this Cup Holder, is that it will grow over time as it is an open-source project that any mudder can contribute to, as well as customize to their own needs. For example, i would add a 1/4 20 screw into mine so that it can host a "Shifter Camera", and that kind of customization comes free.

To keep up with the spirit of Mud, i want to offer not just Cup-Holders, but also "Mods" for your cup holders. I want you guys to really use your imaginations and join the "think tank" with me.

For example:

Mod for LX/GX Cup Holders:

mount uno nano board w/ IR receiver
mount Servo
mount arm to transfer servo motion to.... AHC button.
make custom car-key remote with added AHC button function.

$$$

@grinchy will be my Quality Control for most things :D, so samples/prototypes will be passed to him first and when he gives me his blessings/input, i will ship off then.. Will also send @TeCKis300 one for QC as well. I will aim to send samples to them within next 2 weeks. Any special requests for your holders Grinchy and Teck?

-$harpe (yes i did use a $)

Ah, thx! Since mine is still PLA, won't survive the upcoming summer.

I'll take one in black please :)

Going to run some test prints with these, for the folks who demand a glow in the dark cup holder.

Jk, I’m making glow in the dark buttons and light switches.

I think some of the metallic mix stuff is worth exploring for mud mods/parts, as well as the nylon carbon fiber/other CF mix.

Also got a MMU2S (multiple input 1 out) so I can print in 5 colors on a test machine, or 5 materials or mix of colors/different materials. For example: you can have different colors, as well as line the edges with nylon or another flexible material; to reduce chances or scraping/cutting yourself. I could also print the support in water soluble material, and still leave 4 colors/materials for the rest of the print.

@TeCKis300 definitely worth the upgrade for your MK3S. I don’t have one, not even a clone, so I plan on modding this (cloned) MMU2S to work with my Voron Trident or Genius Pro.

This is what I did past 2 days: painting tabletops/preparing for automation package, and setting up 24/7 live feed for my first fleet of printers.

And today I picked up a Carload (1 of 2 for artillery, 800kg total) of filament, 1 more carload (little less) and awaiting KVP shipment (from OHIO) as well.

I will be sharing test prints (in Black ABS first), as well as color/material options available soon!

I’ll turn the cameras on in a little for people who want a sneak peak! At Bao The Builder YouTube.

Update: Still running test prints and building enclosures (for better ABS prints).

I'm going to try some in Carbon Fiber PETG (Black) as well, will share when done.

if the parts are large it’s not going to be cost effective but I have made parts for higher shock/vibration and the nylon based filaments will hold up better over time. Cup holders will probably do fine but anywhere you see high vibrations abs/petg/pla may not last very long.

Noted. I do have material and color options for mud, and will order a batch of carbon fiber nylon and other nylons to test. I am currently testing Nylon PCTPE for wearable armor (like iron main suit).

The ABS PLA PETG holders I can ship off for $20 bucks total, with ABS being most heat resistant and PETG resistant enough for most drivers. I have not tested the carbon fiber PETG for heat resistance, but structurally speaking it’s super sturdy. I think maybe too sturdy and I am leaning towards ABS.

I am trying to catch my breath from moving furniture and filament around all week, and will start running a ton of tests here soon. I have 10 test ABS prints going at the moment (making Voron Trident parts so I could get it up and running, and be able to use my best machine for mud). CoreXYs are much more stable and provide cleaner finishes.

The Voron Trident is what I’ll be putting a 24/7 camera on and dedicating to cup-holders (it’s much faster than my Cartesian and should be able to pump out 2 quality holders a day). You’ll be able to see the entire process of your cup holder being made over 6-12 hours, on a special channel I make for the Trident.

Hello Everyone,

Quick update: Need a little more time to get my corexy/enclosure up for Big ABS prints.

The first batch of cup holders will be made in PETG, and i am running the first few test prints tonight.

You are welcome to stop by my youtube or post on here if you have any ideas/personalization/requests. I will send out updates via messages and on here when i need to collect payment/trying to get one shipped out for you. Remember personalization is free; i'll work on a few examples of ways you can add a personal touch to your cup holder tonight.

I will ship out the first 2 PETG for quality inspection (@grinchy @TeCKis300 need them address in my DMs please) this week, and will post every color option for PETG here after i am happy with test prints. Let me know within next 1-2 days if you guys have personalization ideas. @grinchy maybe a mountain on the side? Mt. Grinchy?

-Sharpe

Got nowhere on examples of personalization, my tinkercad skills need work. Also my blender skills is a bit elementary but I’ll work on that too. Ok fine, “a bit” is an understatement, but I’ll get better after some sleep; no promises.

My normal PETG black print became a stringy mess to the point that it was ruined. The carbon fiber PETG print is doing well (the stringing can be easily cleaned up after). The finish and strength is nice! I can barely find the layer lines on on some parts.

I will run the normal PETG print again for folks who want one for $20 shipped. The carbon fiber PETG one will be $5-10 more; I am still trying out different settings in the slicing software, which can affect final print times and material costs. If I ask for $30 total, I can assure you guys it will worth it; I hope… again no promises. Note that I have a strict no return policy, as it will be just as cost effective to send mudders a free replacement (shipping cost is probably equal to what I am asking); not worth the extra CO2 emissions from the extra transportation needs, not kidding.

@TeCKis300 I engraved your name on it! This will not be the final one I ship, but I’ll send it for your personal collection anyways; or whichever is the first successful test print. #fingerscrossed

I'd like the Colorado state emblem on mine....

I'd be interested in slicer and printer settings you come up with that work best for this part. I'm still learning on that and need some data points. I have sort of dropped the ball on this after getting it all set up.

More than happy to help on that one boss. I will make you a video once i get it down and share it here; today.

What material are you using? And what printer model? Slicer program?

I have a Biqu B1 (same as Ender V3 I think) and I have PETG ready, but have only used PLA so far.

I have PrusaSlicer and Cura. Mostly used Cura so far.

Noted, consider it done boss. You should do this one in PeTG.

Update on first test print in carbon fiber petg.

Also, @CSteppe82 i know you don’t need a holder but I got some things cooking for the potheads too!

My Buddha figurine collection is 300+ models and counting (most I can sell/non copyrighted). This one is Buddha Cheech, just got done printing today! Also I have the Buddhist ladies, yoda and Batman keeping an eye on @TeCKis300 ‘s test print.
