Hello everyone, sorry for the lack of updates; like I said the only thing slower than my printers is me. Maybe now that I've made them faster, I'll also start moving faster. Not holding my breath on that one.

First test print for cup holder today; in ABS as well as in a heated enclosure. I still have not messed with fitment but we will put that efforts in on the ABS version.

ABS can be acetone treated/vapor smoothed, which may shrink it just a tad and results in an amazing finish; like a molded part. We will have to wait and see how the fitment is with that in mind, before considering tweaking anything with the design itself. Maybe it didn't fit before because I printed it too fat; it doesn't take much to make it bulge.

@TeCKis300 I will open with the .6 nozzle and then try .8 and 1.8 cht after. My .6 is not a CHT but it won't matter since I am running a Rapido UHF. I'll put a cam on the filament roll today.

I plan on sharing my 3D Printing business here on mud small business section, when i get time... but basically if you guys ever need a printer or something printed, just trust that i will take good care of you.

Are you still printing these cup holders for Lc200s??

Yes am running first test prints tonight for ABS. I've been holding off waiting on exactly this; abs is the most heat resistant so it won't melt in your truck. I will have an update tomorrow after first print is done.

Got it. Put me on the list!!

So it begins, .8cht nozzle up first.

@SharpeCat , how are you keeping your print bed(s) so clean?
I use the rough side of a sponge and dish soap. Biggest thing is use something that is a degreaser, because the grease from my fingers has been one of the biggest causes of my prints not sticking.

Also, small update. Good news is no warping and quality checks out, Bad news is I blew my thermistor about 80% through first big print. I will do a better job of soldering the connection when replacement thermistor gets here soon (replacement sent by Amazon seller) and we will give it another go. Alternatively, I can also fix my slower hotend and throw it back on and he will be back up running today or tomorrow.

I should have known someone already did this.
I wanted something looking more OEM for 2008 Land Cruiser.
The narrowest part of the hole is about 3" (80mm). This fits some Yeti 24 oz cups which are common in my house.
It has a printed ledge that drops in to the original sunglasses shaped cup holder profiles. So the whole thing is fairly snug.
This is my fourth iteration of the design, including printing on the side, so the exposed top has a reasonably smooth finish.

Piling on here. I wanted an insert that held my Motorola Razr folded up inbetween the two cup holders for my 2016. OEM has 4 tabs to hold it in, and my overachieverness said I needed to reproduce those tabs to do the job properly.

I was perfectly happy with the cup holder sizes so nothing fancy there. Seems to work!

DId this one in ABS, not a perfect print but a nice 22 hour run time. Might try again with PETG.

Wow - that's amazing work on reproducing the tabs, that's the first time I think anyone has taken this to that level. That should make it a bit more stable than the other options without resorting to things like using double sided tape on the bottom.

That’s awesome. Are you willing to share your model? I just upgraded to an enclosed printer so ABS is now on my list.

Thanks for sharing the design! Made a few modifications and printed it out in ABS (8.5 hours on Bambu X1). Snapped right in on my 2008. If I print it again I would close up the gap to the console and probably tweak the cup holders a bit more. Excellent work on the mounting tabs.

Also started to work again on my cup holder yesterday. Hard to find the perfect shape for holders that give you the most space within the oem holder an fits fine.
But I still have a bunch of s***ty old filament that I cam waste for tesprints. A bit like a trial & error to find the perfect shape.
Biggest reason for my v2 was that I wanted to fit my Yeti as well.
Final print will be done with Pet-CF bc of its awesome strengh and the matte rough finish
Print time on PLA ~1:45h

A few versions later
I’m now kinda happy with the result. One side fits for the Yeto mug and the other one for the german half liter euro-bottle (in case take a look at total wine & more… talking about the bit bulky glas bottles). For all other kind of sizes I‘m making inserts so something like a Red Bull can fits perfectly.

Mate, this is exactly what I'm after - could you upload/send me the STL file for this one?
