Time to start putting the puzzle together! :)
I'll hit you up later for few questions! Or I'll just post here!

More comments from the peanut gallery on the logo. I like the fist and name, but showed it to my wife and she was totally confused about the graphic and name and what the business did. Ie, your metal work for offroad vehicles.

I imagine "Descent off road" is taken already. the fist your brother did, the thumb looked to me like a broken switchback trail. Make that more clear and shape the fingers of the fist into a mountain and you can tie descent with the homophone dissent with off road trail riding and raised fist simultaneously. I suspect many won't scrutinize your icon for hidden meaning so dissent may be lost for those. However it may make your product/service more obvious.

Agree on that! At first I was confused as well and had to go look up what the word really meant. Again, Portuguese is my first language so my English vocabulary is always expanding!
I just imagine it's not very clear for a big chunk of folks out there what the drawing and word mean, therefore they also won't know what the company makes/does!

Now that I know, I do like it. The clearer the logo is the better you are.

What does Apple have to do with computers? What percent of the population knows Nike was the goddess of victory? That Google was derived from googolplex (an extremely large number)? That a Corvette was a French ship?

Most brands are built using associative names paired with descriptive terms, e.g. Apple Computers. So, that a story can be told... and the company can someday grow... and make watches.

Dissent begins to tell the story of a company not following the rest of the industry - crafting gear for a market who doesn't want to be part of the herd, e.g. "differs in sentiment or opinion, especially from the majority".

When names get too descriptive, they are also difficult to trademark, they don't stand out from the others making similar products, and again, they limit what that company might seek to do in the future.

^^ That right there.

i am so glad i asked ben to weld.

The kit is very straightforward! Really simple and I only scratched my head once with a couple pieces! It's going to be fun putting it together, my only issue is that I have two sick kids in the house right now which will slow me down, but that's life!

It really is, but there are a few tricks that will make it smoother. Give me a call when you get a chance.

Wow!! That is a lot of parts. Looks like I need to put more time aside for welding this up. I was thinking I would crank this out in an afternoon. That is not gonna happen. I will probably have to tack it together the first day, then weld it up on the 2nd, and finally clean up my ugly welds and prime and paint it on the 3rd. With another couple hours on another day dealing with install.

When I said it'll be fun to put it together I really mean fun! No sarcasm on my side! I do enjoy building my own stuff! Kit is as simple as it could be and there are not that many pieces! It may look like that but it isn't.
Just felt like I should clarify.

You're getting closer! (not a big fan of the fist either, sorry...)

Ben, I showed the logo to a designer... he said "Hey, I like that... couple little things maybe... Give me a minute... "

He:
- Increased space between the wordmark and the line (by a value of X, X = the width of a letter in the wordmark
- Increased size of the fist
- lopped off the line after OFF-ROAD
- Moved OFF-ROAD a bit "to tie the fist to the wordmark a bit"
