Got the first pieces tacked together. There are a few little thing that need to be dialed in but it was close. Bringing these pieces back to the shop tomorrow and they will work on the changes and cut another for a test fit. Once the center section and brackets are all dialed in they will start on the wings. Here are some pics of all those pieces tacked up

Do those vertical oval slots allow for body lifts?

They will allow for some but I will be making different brackets for body lifts

Those are more for alignment to get the proper gap on top. I will also be supplying shims for underneath

So of corse half want welded and half want modular. What I will do is design it to be modular and give an option for me to weld. But honestly I don't think you guy will want it welded once you see what I have planed. It will be just as strong if not stronger than welded. Basically what I'm planing is to build a cap that will slide over the 3 pieces that form the shackle mounts and bolt through the existing holes. Hard to picture but I should have some pics later this week

I started reading through this thread before I realized it was 27 pages in length. Not sure at which page a price was posted on the DIY front bumper kit. Is there a DIY kit? If so, how much?

Yes, the DIY kit is $550 without bull bar, $600 with small stinger and $650 with full bar

Is the kit the modular design or the single piece bumper from earlier in the thread? Sorry if this has been asked and answered numerous times.

The kit could be either one. If you don't like the modular idea you can just simply weld it.

got it. Not a fan of the modular design but I can weld. I don't own a 100 yet (still in the hunt) but this will be one of my first mods. I can also bend tube so the bare kit with no stinger would be perfect. Thanks for developing something like this. You will be getting an order from me probably this summer.

ben, how much more weight will it add with the cap design?

I will want the lighter one.
ETA: If it is as strong.

It will only be a couple pounds.

Any word on an integrated fog light?

Nope. I guess people were right about him being flaky! It's been about 3-4 weeks now and I have not heard back from them. I will most likely have to build my own at some point if it is something people want. But I won't be able to work on that for a while. I have about 20 orders now and I am going to be getting a late start. I hope it not screwing up your guys plans to much.

I should have a prototype of the center section and all the brackets with the cap for the modular system by fri. I'm pretty sure you guys are going to like! I'm having them add tabs and corresponding slots to all the pieces possible. This means quicker production time for me and no measuring for the DIY guys. The pieces can only go where they belong and the tabs and slots will hold them there while they are being welded. I think this is really going to set my kit apart from other DIY kits!

Hey Ben, I know you are getting pretty busy as it is already with the bumpers and a possible roof rack but wanted to throw it out there anyways!

You like many of us drive a 100 series and we all know this platform is steadily gaining lots of ground in the off-roading/expedition world.

I mentioned to you about Hundreds in the Hills and remember you said you won't be able to attend this year's event.

My point is, how about you spreading the word about your product even more by tossing one of your bumpers in for the raffle night? Maybe just one of the bare bumper DIY kits (easier and cheaper on your end)!

You might end up with a customer paying you to build it and maybe even getting other things you come up with like your rack!

My only reason to bringing this up is there's really no other event out there representing the 100 series platform like HIHs and it is a Bad Ass event for sure! And I'm more than happy to put the word out to make it even better!

I believe you would only gain from it. Other vendors have stepped up big!

No need to say yay or nay here in the tread, just consider it and if you decide to do it get a hold of Stan @paflytyer and let him know.

For the love of the 100s. Thanks

Paulo
