you just described my swing outI concur. Do you plan on making a rear bumper?
If so, a couple of personal suggestions:
Just some of my personal thoughts.
- Keep the spare tire carrier as close to the rear hatch as possible with out hitting.
- Keep the spare closest to being behind the drivers side, not the passenger side. I feel that the right rear quarter view is far more important than the view directly behind the driver. Yes I realize that may require a left hand swing-out or a lot of weight cantilevered on the end of a right hand swing-out.
- Do something for the Hi-Lift other than an angle mount on the back hidden behind the spare. I hate that look. Try horizontal along the bottom of the spare, just above the bumper, or vertical next to one of the "D" pillars.
- Have the swing-out be modular so a ladder, jerry cans, Hi-Lift, antenna, or what ever can be bolted on.
- And of course, a good departure angle with a 2" hitch receiver.
Thanks drwapenshaw!Let me know what other views you need. So I can put my bumper back on![]()
Yes you would need a large piece of cardboard. You have to cut it several times as it will only slide under an inch or so. Slide it in between grill housing and the lower grill support. ( where the stock bumper slides in)"Would there be any was you could slide a piece of cardboard that lower support a trace out the exact profile?"
I believe you need me to get a large piece of cardboard and get an outline. But I dont know of what. Please expand on what you need. I do not fully understand?

Then trace out the grill, cut your marks and repeat till you have the entire front. Hopefully That made sense.
