Dissent offroad modular front bumper

Not perfectly straight but close enough for some overlap of the beam patterns in front of the vehicle. The angle brackets are just rubber spacers. They could probably be trimmed with a utility knife to change the angle.
Where’d you pick them?

Any photos of the updated front bumper installed (modular cutout for lights rather than holes drilled and more front facing fairlead cutout)

Also, I have heard there is a flip up front license plate option. Does anyone have pics or details on where and how this sits?

I'll have mine installed in about 2 weeks, getting it coated currently. I am curious to see how the cutout works as I wasn't aware this was how mine would come. Not sure if I am going to like the disruption of the lines on the bumper, but I'm sure I'm just being a gear queer about it.

I kind of like the idea of the blank off plate/ insert and almost prefer it. The issue with having the cutouts in the wings is that you're limited to the 3x3 light bolt pattern. I had a set of Baja Designs Squadrons that I would have loved to use but ended up having to get the Rigids because of the form factor. With inserts, you can cut blanks to fit the light of your choice and buy a new set of inserts if you swap them out for different ones, instead of new bumper wings. I'm sure it's also much easier for @benc to fabricate and stock just one base set of bumper wings, which means shorter lead times and better prices for us.

Definitely much easier for production.

Wings with plates. They’re threaded so I assume it has to go on the top. I haven’t painted hardware yet obviously. Install is this weekend. Ignore my greasy hand prints.

How straight are they after adding the angle brackets?
Not perfectly perpendicular but close enough for me. The brackets are a soft urethane-type material and could probably be modified pretty easily to angle the lights as desired. Honestly, I'd love to see someone machine these out of UHMW with a couple of angle options. The RIGID one's are pretty disappointing, but there's nothing else really out there that does the job.

Those look slick... Id like to see someone chrome plate one see what it looks like...

I went black because I have black depos. The nice thing is you can easily paint it and change your bumper look with just those plates. So if I get tired of the black I can get them matched to the bumper. Or I can make them purple so my daughters will like it.

Has anyone had issues with the supplied bullet lights (3/4” round lights) that work as turn signals? Mine were working fine but one of them doesn’t light up anymore. Probably like 2 minutes of total use (truck is at the shop still so I’ve turned it on several times to test everything), so pretty much brand new. Kinda disappointed.

I'd double check the install. Lights like that are usually LEDs embedded in epoxy , and as long as they're wired properly you should have very little chance of failure. Remember LEDs are polarity sensitive unlike incandescent bulbs.

What do you mean by wired properly? They came pre-wired and were working fine before. Not sure how it’s a wiring issue on my end. Only one of the bullet lights burnt out in a series of five on the passenger side.

Unless the kit came wired half-assedly (if that’s even a word).

Ah, I wasn't aware they came from Dissent pre-wired. I'd still check the install though, as there is a chance that a connector wasn't crimped properly, or a solder joint failed (I don't know how they wired them). I still think there is a pretty small chance that the light itself is bad.

That’s what I’m thinking too. LEDs have a very long life. Definitely longer than a couple of minutes haha. I’ll pull them off on Sunday and see what I can find.

I apologize for the inconvenience!
It is rare but definitely possible that there is a bad light, we test them all for a second but don’t run them for extended time. A quick way to check for wiring issues is reach back the and wiggle things around a bit while watching the light to see if anything changes.
Let me know if you need me to send you a new set.

Oh for sure I agree that its much easier for production and I am sure it will be fine. I just wasn't expecting it.
Sorry for the surprise!
Yes, we recently switched to this style to allow us to stock up some inventory.
All the different options cut into the bumper made it tough and we were only able to build upon order. We are on track to have bumpers in stock and ready to ship in the next week or 2 because of this change!
Let me know if you need to swap anything out as I think I have a couple of the old style left.
Thanks.
