alright everyone anything i should know about changing my fuel pump on my 92' mini-22re. please let me know thank you

isn't B+ to fp the two jumper terminals?

My book is outside and I can't recall from memory if that's it. If it is it, have you tried it?

well i had real bad fuel cut. So i replaced fuel filter and gas lines. Still didnt work then a toyota mechanic told me he thinks it the fuel pump. So if your saying (wake it up) would you just tap the fuel pump?

There are two ways. Drop the fuel tank or lift off the bed. If you drop the tank be careful because the wires going to the tank will be old and brittle and they may break if you let the tank drop to the ground without unplugging them first. You may also encounter fuel lines that won't want to come undone when you drop the tank and they too aren't long enough to reach the ground still attached.

Personally, I prefer the lift off the bed method but I got a bobbed bed held on by only 4 bolts so its a lot easier. Undo the wiring harness to the tail lights and license plate light. Take out the three screws holding the gas filler neck to the bedside. Then unbolt the 6 or 8 17mm bed bolts. Bed will lift right off. Be careful not to strip the philips head screws holding in the filler neck. They will be rusty. Find a friend to help you lift off the bed.

Its about the same amount of work either way but I think there is less of a chance of causing more problems by lifting off the bed. That way you don't have to drain the tank either. Besides, When your done you can do mile long burnouts while the bed is off and there is no weight on the rear wheels. :D

second I have used a hammer to (wake up) a pump that is still running after 2 years.

How do you hammer a fuel pump down inside a gas tank?

Lifting the bed is easier than it sounds. It's more awkward than heavy, a couple of guys can easily move it. Lots of small things to double check first, electrical gremlins have many forms.

you don't have to remove the bed.
just take the bolts off on that side and lift and shove a 50 cal ammo can between the bed and the frame rail. gives you plenty of room to work on it..
to wake it up I just bashed it a few times on the top, and it is still working a year or more later. just don't bash the connections.
maybe a piece of crap got caught in the wrong spot and now that piece of crap is in the fuel filter???

Opus Rocks!

the b+ and fp are the terminals. However, that really does not tell you much other than it is turning on. Does nothing in terms of telling you pressure in the lines-which is the most important aspect I would think.

I believe proper process is to jumper the test terminals and measure fuel pressure.

Without doing that, only can tell on/off function of pump.

I have never taken off my bed but I have replaced the tank in my Toyota by removing it from the bottom. Really not that difficult or time consuming.

Just make sure the tank is somewhat empty. It is a bit heavy full ( :
