You are moving right along...it may not seem like it...but..you are...looks like your on track to finish in what 5-6 more months?

Hopefully :D

See how all the body work goes :D
I am think the reassembly should be pretty fun and easy :D
But you never know, it always takes longer than you think :D
Just excited to be working with new hardware and clean/ freshly painted parts :)

all the body parts back from the blasters.

Most look great.

There was some rust in the toolbox floor though, might need to by a replacement panel.
Which place makes them for early 40s?

Posting photos in a sec.

Maybe just patch that peice under the tool box...
Do not see any refab steel panels for 1964 years :(

Body shop said any other pits can be welded up.

Bare metal looks pretty neat :D

Kinda bummed about the rust holes in the tool box bottom :(
Any ideas out there?

I guess cut the tool box bottom out and put a new piece of metal in>?

What did you pay for all that blasting? Where did you get the canvas/vinyl top? Yes, cut the metal out and weld in new. Thanks

not too bad for all that work. its the small pieces that take the time. question, why does everyone want a top for Eshan? he is suck a PIA to deal with, what am i missing about them?

Yeah I thought it was a good deal considering all those bazillion small bits :D
They guy did a great job.

Eshan canvas top rocks man, such great construction, i am super impressed with the quality :D

From the pic it looks like all the pits in the toolbox are on the flat metal, none on the ribs. If I were doing it right I would just remove it and splice in a patch, leaving the original ribs. :wrench:

An easy fix would be to refinish it, tape the holes from the bottom and do a good bedliner on the interior of the box. No one would see it there, and it would be practical. ;)

Sounds like a clever solution my friend :D

I hope you meant Jim's idea of taking the time to weld in new sheet metal...you did not come this far to start cheaping out now.

I need to change that part of the driver's floor as well, but mine is a little worse. The rest of your stuff looks great! Was this thing garaged all it's life?

Love the pics

I just remembered there is a guy in OC that has a plasma spray welder that sprays metal metal and fills in all the holes and heals it in a sorta way. I am sure many know what i am trying to say, but this is something cool to watch. Might want to look into this.

Shane

Cool Shane I will look into that :D
Could be a good solution for sure.

And yes Dean, i was talking about cutting out the little rectangular rusted bit and welding in new metal :D
No bed liner :D
