Hey all,

Not sure which forum is best to ask this, guess I’ll have to move it later but...

Anyone have a set of stock wheels I could borrow/rent to smog my truck?
Turns out an awd Lx450 with 35’s is just too big for the guys at the emission shops here in CO.

Located in Longmont, CO but would drive to anyone down in Denver or aurora or boulder or even Colorado Springs. I’d be mighty thankful.
Thanks!

How soon? I should have mine up on jack stands sometime next week for suspension transplant if you want to borrow mine. I'm in wheat ridge.

Are you willing to come to the Boulder location? How soon do you need to do it?

@snowglobe i wish i could just obdII smog my truck but its been impossible to get the Cat monitor to run its test. (everything is brand new so no reason not to pass, also no codes or pending codes)

@DaFunky69 I'll shoot ya a message next week. I'll be around on Wednesday so I can pop by and grab wheels if you're up on jackstands by then. Thanks a bunch man! you can try out some 35's too hahaha

They will just scan your ODBII and pass you at any location now since you won’t fit the machine. Also the Fort Collins site off mulberry and I-25 has a larger machine that will allow you to run the 35’s but if no issues with the check engine why do the drive.

I tried doing a smog test at the FT. Collins center and they wouldn't run my rig with 315's. Homeboy got the ruler out to measure my tires and said it would not work on the rollers.

I go to the Sheridan station on south Federal and test with 315's no issues on the machine. Passed my last 3 tests at that station.

For me, they just scanned the computer for readiness/codes and did the visual check. No need for dyno test. This was at 52nd in Arvada.

I do have a pair of rollers you can borrow, only 2 wheels, so you'd need to pull the front driveshaft. They are late model Tacoma steelies with 245 rubber.

I was at the Boulder location today and I asked about tire sizes. The manager said there is no legal limit on tire sizes that he knows of, but only certain places have the equipment to test bigger tires. He said their equipment technically goes up to 32, but they will test 33s and maybe worn 34s. 35s and above need to be tested at either Ft. Collins, Sheridan, and maybe one other place. He said they are eventually going to have the same equipment, and will be able to test any size.

@pawnthatdude

thats what the dudes in Longmont smog told me too. but, turns out that is only for 2wd with large tires.
the smog stations i've stopped at say "we can do oversized tires, we can do awd, but we can't do awd and oversized tires"
bummersville.

I'm hoping someone's got a set of rollers i can use, 33 or smaller for a couple hours for a 6pack

Ah, very interesting, I didn't ask about that. I did PM you though if you want to use my wheels.

Hey Ray! so the sheridan guys rolled it with awd and oversized tires?
I"ll shoot over there today and see what happens. worst case, my truck finishes the cat testing on my way there

Yeah, I've tested there the last three times and no issues with oversized tires.
