new promotion = new tires! 35" TrXus MT's being ordered.

Rick & Nat and their parts stash are going to help me fix all the little issues and problems with my suspension and get that all perfect.

Decided to put my dash back together and hope it's inspectable with the ABS and CEL lights on. Hopefully do that this week if I can get my ebrake working.

Need to pick up some roll-on herculiner for the back cargo area.

I think we need some visual updates as well. Pics please!

truly awesome dudes, both have helped me out numerous times. i miss the old gang! no rick, not that you are old, you know what i mean. :flipoff2:

Found out the pos non-stock antenna wasn't even hooked up so I pulled that out. I have a fixed mast one I'm going to put in once I gain access to the back of the stereo.

Pulled my lower dash and steering column surround off to try to figure out a way to pull out the factory alarm but it's just too snaked into everything.

Oh.... stickers... I've been keeping a collection of them waiting for a truck that would stay around long enough and this is it. The Warn one was already on it.

2 weeks until spring meeting and here's my punchlist:

1. Tighten up Pside front bearing (a bit wiggly and pulling to that side
2. Patch or replace muffler (split along front edge and generally very beat up
3. Get, and install new tires (35" TrXus on order)
4. VT State inspection sticker

Other things I'd like to get done but are not must-do:

1. New rear pinion seal (I think)
2. Install CB

Longer term things that I want done by Fall Gathering at the VERY latest:

1. Install Rear Sway bar (picking one up from Nat at the meeting)
2. Access, Fix or otherwise Rehab front & rear locker actuators so that they work
3. Sliders

If you need help let me know. I'll bring beer and watch! : )

Truck goes into the garage tomorrow to get the tire son and get inspected. Not sure if they will nick me about the muffler or anything else but we'll get through it somehow.

Looking forward to driving it!!!!!!

No surprise, the TrXus took a LOT of weights, and managed to throw at least 2 of them on the 1 hr. drive I just got back from. I'll be replacing them with Airsoft pellets asap.

Other then that it ran great. Once I acclimated to the altitude it was a good ride. Soft tires and flexy coils make for a cush ride. Decent pep from the engine, runs smooth (and quiet now that I replaced the belts with OEM).

I'm buying a rear sway bar from Nat which will help the lean a bit.

I also need to get a dustcap for the front Dside axle... it's slinging grease but it's also an odd sized flange (?). I don't remember the details but Rick and Nat explained it to me. :)

The stereo is in rough shape, most of the buttons don't work. I've been cruising ebay looking for a Scion radio to pop in there.

Overall though, I'm 110% thrilled. :) :)

my experience with TrXus radials is not much weight. I hope they checked out those rims well for you. I saw how the last owner treated that truck and throwing a weight is not real common if put on properly.

That birf was replaced and the flange wasn't which is why the cap doesn't fit. It's a difference between old and new style birfs. That also might be why your ABS light is on. He might have put in a birf without the exciter ring on it so no ABS.

So wambas for you then?

So I need the longer flange then? or is their a deeper dustcap?

Wambus? maybe. :) I've never had a rig this tall, I need to mind my learning curve.

The AT's that were on their didn't have a lot of weight and ran smoothly at all speeds so I'm not worried about the wheels, more likely it's install error. The 2 that disappeared were an odd shape and style.

My plan for this truck is a "wheeler" safe, but not perfect is fine. It will be driven maybe 3k miles a year and with the mileage already on it, and the condition it is in, it wouldn't be smart spending to try to return it to perfection. I will have my family in it though so safety is important.

Someday down the road I'd like to pick up a cleaner, newer truck to build up as an expedition rig that I can drive cross country if I want. But this one isn't it.

My priorities are to keep it running well, keep it safe on the road.

1. Airsoft pellets in the tires, remove lead weights.
2. Install the rear sway bar
3. Fix the lockers

After that, just PM and fix stuff as it breaks (which will go first? the clicky birf? the HG?)
