Anyone ever take on replacement of a dashboard/dash pad. Looking at a 95 but the dash is cracked forward of the steering wheel.

Anyone ever tackle replacement of a dash and can weigh in on the difficulty level. Without knowing much, it seems like it would be pretty difficult and not something I’d want to tackle. But, would be interested in an opinion based on experience.

Thanks

Just takes time and patience. Plan on a full day of removal and a full day of install. And get some of those plant starter trays to keep all the hardware separate and LABEL EVERYTHING. And take pics of connections, etc.

Thanks for the input. Yes, all the connections make me nervous and the thought of having to chase down things that don’t work afterwards does concern me.

I would not worry about it. That’s where the patience comes into play though. As you’re taking things apart, a wide array of colored markers and colored tapes can help a lot. Marking male/female of a single connection with the same color can be helpful, and if you find a connection that wasn’t used originally, just wrap in black electrical tape or something.

Cool. Thanks for the tips. Now to find a good dash!

@slow95z may have one.

He can also tell you how long it takes in/out for a newb VS having done it a few times.

What are the options for repairing/filling in dash cracks, and how well does that come out?

What color do you need? I have one brown one in good condition. PM me if your interested.

Also, my 2 cents.... I always forget the bolt behind the trim vent looking thing on the pass side to the right of the airbag.

Should have heard my wife bitch about that one when she took the dash out of her truck. I sat there with a big smile just watching someone else fight it.

Looking for gray.

A side note, didn’t realize the pad portion could just be replaced. Up to just doing that if anyone knows a source for a gray one.
