auto sense off the battery terminal to trigger when the alternator is charging. really cool idea. not having to hack into the OEM harness for ignition on would be a really slick way.

Wow...that is pretty nice. I just ordered three. Three were sold before me in the last few hours so someone else here must be reading this thread.
Let us know how this works! I have seen these, but have always been a little skeptical because I do not know anyone that has one. Super neat idea though, and handy if it works as intended reliably.Wow...that is pretty nice. I just ordered three. I looked at these a while back, but i have a BCDC with solar which would mess with that. What ive done previously is to use the radio ACC signal and put a bus bar that I would wire all my ACC sense to. More work but easier to use radio harness and not mess with OEM stuff
seems like a really expensive and messy way to do something that is pretty cheap and easy to do cleanly. And it's only rated for 8a? So you would still need this to trigger ANOTHER relay? lame

6X/7x Land Cruiser 6 terminal connector for relay trigger power tap
Do you need a connector and terminals to make a clean power tap to have ignition switched relays? This high quality connector will allow you to do that from the spare connector in your driver side kick panel! For the 6x/7x Land Cruisers. Included terminals work with 20-14ga wire. *This power...cruiser-cult.myshopify.com
if you want to have a switch or trigger source for your bosch style relay to only pull power when the engine is running then it's not so easy. Yes of course we have all used an ACC tap a fuse or hacked the cig lighter or radio source.
The entire point of this unit is - to know if the engine is running. your not going to use it to run a load, but you could run a very small load. your going to use it as a trigger source. The only way I know would be to find the pin on ECU and splice into that lead to get the engine is running +dc signal.
This just wires up to the battery and can sense the wave change an alternator makes. To me this is a very clean solution to a very old problem.
i have it in mine, its loose right next to the fuse panel and i didnt know what it was for a while.Anyone seen this spare connector in their 70 series kick panel? I need to take a look again but as far I know, I have not noticed it.
Thank you for rewritting what is written on their site. I read it and fully understand. I still think it's a silly gimmick. It is not hard to cleanly integrate into most OEM harnesses for key-on power (the better way to do it, not sure why someone would only want an accessory to be able to work when the engine is running vs key-on)
Right, but there are countless other connectors and places to get switched voltage from. It's really not hard to do nicely if you know what you're doing. So to get this back on track. I looked last night and my cruiser does not have the wire in the kick panel. So there is that. What @sleepydad69 pointed out in this thread will be useful for me down the road I belive.
I don't understand what accessories someone would need that would ONLY be functional when the engine is running. Does someone have an example?
