Some more little things being done to the cruiser as I sit at home. I bought a set of LS400 visors to replace my super saggy OEM ones based on a thread I saw on here by @40thSagePearl and it works great! (although I misjudged the color in the ebay pics lol). No more sag thank goodness, so now I can finally enjoy the massive windshield...compared to the tacoma at least. I haven't gotten the wiring adapted, but I don't ever really use it for makeup anyway ;) (don't judge the mic wire plz I'm working on it lol)

I also finally opened up my DFG Offroad tilting fridge slide. This thing is f'n sweet!! Can't wait to get this mounted onto my trunk shelf thing, which should also be done soon :grinpimp::bounce:

I decided to upgrade the lighting on both trucks too. The cheapo Amazon 20" LED dual row bar is coming over to the Land Cruiser, and the Tacoma is getting an upgraded one (solid B-level I'm told) from superbrightLEDs. The LC is also getting a pair of 7" LED bars from SBLED in flood pattern for the bumper openings and one of the cheapo yellow Amazon LED cubes from the Tacoma as a rear dust light, mounted on a Rago fab antenna mount.

Thoughts behind the move: I realized that the cheap, not as bright lights, are going to be ok when moving slowly, but if I end up in the desert or dunes in the dark it’ll be better to have some higher quality beams on the Tacoma. Therefore, I’m gonna move the cheapos to the Land Cruiser (plenty bright for slower stuff) and gonna add the top of the line Rigid D2 driving beam LED pods and a solid B-level light bar to the Tacoma.

Two other updates. First, I wired up a hot cigarette outlet in the trunk for my fridge and other things. Probably gonna add a small switch panel back here in the future too for accessories. Second, another progress pic on the trunk gizmo!

If you are bombing it in the desert or dusty roads it is good to have a high up light so people don't rear end me.

Mind sharing a link or details on the light.

Dust Light? Is that to see if you're still moving?

Seriously, I've never heard that reference. Help me understand. Not a "Fog" light, but "Dust" light? Not trying to be a complete smartass. Just a partial one.

@BILT4ME yep, this here. It gets pretty dusty on some of these California trails, so the rear amber/yellow lights help people behind me see where I am.
@clx16 it’s just a cheapo amazon light that I wired up with a spare amazon harness lol. Nothing crazy lol

how did you run the wiring for the cigarette lighter? underneath the carpet?
Sort of, mostly under the little plastic door moldings and stuff tho. It was basically a straight line from the battery to the cigarette outlet lol

Buttoned up a couple other small odds n' ends:

P/O removed the 3rd row speakers and grilles and broke the dome light assembly, so I found some replacements on Craigslist and slapped them on. They really tie the room together.

P/O also cut the hoses to the windshield washer nozzles and the reservoir had a leak, so I also found replacements from the same Craigslist seller for these. You don't appreciate your ability to wash your windshield while driving until you can't...

Finally, since the Fast and the Furious is my real dad, I put some $12 Amazon led strips in the footwells. I can feel your judgement, and I don't care
:luvya:
I might even put a set in the trunk for camping parties!

A couple pics of this weekend's progress. We added a 5/8" thick sheet of plywood to the rack. With the middle crossbar, it is plenty sturdy. I won't post the pic of this, but I can confirm it held my buddy's full weight lol. I think all that is left is to add the two loops for the tire strap, button up a few welds, bolt the plywood shelf in, paint and install.

Here are some closer pics of the Front Runner Roof Load Bars already mounted. I forgot to snap some before we put them on

@DannyBFresco Are the bars adjustable in height, aka can you get them closer/further away from the roof if needed? I would love to see any more pictures, if you have any, showing how close they are to the roof ribs (I also already removed my original roof rack). I'm really considering these for my rig but want something that's as close as possible to the roof, since I will only be using them to mount an awning. Loving the build so far!

Thanks! I’ll take a look tomorrow to see if it’s adjustable (don’t remember off the top of my head), but the bar is only a ball hair away from sitting on the roof ribs lol. I don’t think it could get any closer without touching.

Apparently the little 7" led bars in the bumper openings aren't gonna work out without some custom mounts (which I don't feel like doing), so I'm going a different route now. The front bumper is thankfully vertical (or close enough to it), so I'm going to get some flush mount pods from diode dynamics and mount them in the front bumper. It's so nice that it's a metal bumper because these mounting options are awesome lol

Awesome, this is exactly what I needed to know. I want something that is as close to the roof ribs as possible, so I'm definitely buying these! Thanks for the info man.

No problem! They don’t appear to be adjustable either, but they’re super close to the roof ribs. I like that you can also add onto them with more sets of bars and a wind fairing
