I would like to improve my setup for this tool as it's an ongoing need. I planned on buying one of TheForger's puller tools but no response from him in months, so assuming he's out of the game. Before making my own I thought i would touch base on the collective wisdom of the forum. What's everyone using?

My understanding is: puller tool to pull the axle out in order to install the right snap ring.

I think there are some self made solutions as well. I personally didn't use any tool to be honest ;) for now it keeps up ^^

I used a bolt threaded into the splined shaft and pulled. I had one that was real stubborn, so I had a helper run the engine, hold the brakes, and shift between D-N-R while I pulled. That worked wonderfully.

You talking about pulling the CV out of the diff or ? If it's that, just a pry bar.

Pulling the axle out to install snap rings. I would like something that allows me to put more pressure on it. Will probably just make one out of some square tube but was thinking maybe there’s something readily available that does this job.

If you can't do it by hand (actually, using two fingers on a bolt), something is very wrong.

i made mine using some junk from the garage

What's to measure? Pull the axle, stick in the largest snap ring that'll fit and go about your life. If it's a couple of thousandths too thin, it's not going to matter to anyone or anything.
