Hi everyone, I have purchased a Toyota LC100 2006 that has been modified. The engine has been changed to a 1HZ manual and because this vehicle has CV axles, I am wondering if I am going to have permanent issues with those CV axles? I am already starting to hear some noise on the one on the drivers side. I have already changed the one on the passenger side. Any help would be much appreciated for a solution. Or do I need to get rid of the vehicle all together.
Cheers

Check the cv axle and flange splines on the driver side, replace them if they are bad. Getting rid of the vehicle will get rid of the noise for sure.
Cheers thank you for that. The reason for me asking, this is the second time I have changed the passenger side one in a year and half and it's now the second time on the driver side.

OEM Toyota or aftermarket?
does it have a lift?

Well you didn't state this in your first post. On top of @3_puppies questions, how many miles on the axles in that 1.5 years period? What is the road condition? What is your driving style?

They are aftermarket ones....It is difficult to get EOM parts here...either really expensive and takes a long time to arrive or simply can't find them. There is a Toyota dealer but they only want to deal with brand new vehicles bought from them. No lift for now but that will come later. We've made changes to the torsion bars, I will have to confirm what the changes were.

I probably do near to 3000k's a year which I don't think is a lot and the road conditions are crap ( lots of pot holes ) here so it put a lot of stress on the vehicles, I don't drive fast at all 50 to 60km/h at most in town. On the weekend we go to the beach ( not driving on the beach though) where the road is really sandy for probably a good couple of k's in the dry season (which we are getting to the end now) and sometimes on rainy season can get really muddy (which we are getting into now). I drive carefully to the condition of the roads really.

It is safe to say the road conditions in The Republic of Congo are not smooth and easy.
😂 yes it is pretty safe to say that the roads are crap and full of pot holes. And when it rains it's worse off course.

Was the hub flange replaced at the same time when new CV axle was installed on the driver side?
No they weren't changed

Do you mean the internal snap ring?

NP, I agree, that one needs to be tossed once it's removed. The internal snap rings also have to be replaced. For the same reason.
