I think I am cutting up the 80 in the next few months. I am removing the roof from the windshield back and I want to remove everything from the rear tires back. I will tube it all in and make a decent buggy. Has anyone done this and are there any pictures out there. This is what I am currently working with

Kinda what Eric (Land Speeder) started some years back. :D I guess he got carried away. The power-to-weight ratio was getting pretty good, though.

Kind of like the lx but I want to lose more body. I want to cut the floor just inside the pillars and then I want to run tube down the front fenders to the front bumper. I want to keep the windshield so I can drive it still and I have a lead on 4 plastic bucket seats cheap. Definitely gives me an idea though seeing that

Cutting it up is really going to affect the resale value....

I definitely plan on cutting it in far enough to boatside it. I want as little as possible holding me back on the rocks. As far as resale value....... I think I will take that chance. It may increase the value.....

Luck up dusty's thread on his 80. Not tubed but a great 80 series build. I helped a bit with it and it was shoot for the stars with nothing to spare or make shortcuts type of build...until he rolled it and built a Hammers comp rig.

We kept the roof for body integrity, but they do weigh quite a bit. also, it keeps the large subbox and amps dry. But now that we have a cracked windshield, I wish I had a flat frame to mount a flat piece of safety glass.
