how did you confirm this? the engine has the earlier series engine timing gear so isn't it more likely to be a very early "series 1" 1hz?
the middle east doesn't see the weather us lucky buggers do so a soft paint is fine for their climate.
as you know the protection is just a thin layer so a darn good wax each spring and especially before the snow flies would do wonders ...
They are little bits of iron stuck in the paint surface, just road dirt. Clay bar will remove them. Not a big deal, just a sign of soft paint.
