will buy a lot of adventure travel. Everything you need to go is included except for food, water, and beer – maybe you would want to add a pillow and blanket too.

"Bistro" is our custom built expedition trailer. It got its name because of the café below/ apartment above layout. It has been a loyal companion for the last 4 years, but our kids have grown and recreation plans have changed. This trailer was a great project and has been very reliable.

This trailer will go almost anywhere your 4x4 can go and will hold its own in any campground (actually it draws crowds of admirers). It is light enough to easily maneuver; short enough to turn tightly; easy to back; low and narrow enough to avoid trees and other obstructions. We have had it behind us in the Sierras; the Nevada deserts; Death Valley; the Pony Express Trail and throughout the western states.

Total Trailer dry weight is estimated at 1000 pounds.

Fully loaded with water, food, propane, etc. at 1300-1400 pounds

Easily towed behind our 1995 FZJ-80 Land Cruiser

Easy to maneuver by hand if needed. We have had to disconnect and swing it around on no-go trails where we couldn’t turn around and didn’t want to back up for 5 miles.

Trailer is 21” off ground; 45” at top of deck; 80” to top of tent when closed (lowered) and 79” to top of sleeping platform (raised). Trailer is 11’ long from pintle to spare tire

Known issues:

Small dent on left fender and scrapes on awning from minor roll over on trail

Annex extension pole is bent and splinted

Normal wear and tear

Can the rtt platform be lowered to the top of trailer after removing the storage cases? Also, how old is the trailer and tent? What kind of brakes are on the trailer?
Thanks

The platform has stops at approximately 12" off the deck. They could be removed to lower an additional 3 or 4 " but would still be about 8-9" off the deck. The trailer chassis is from around 1972 The trailer body, wiring, wheel bearings, tires, shocks and springs are all four years old. The tent was purchased at the Tepui distributor in Santa Cruz in 2013.
The trailer does not have brakes. Fully loaded it weighs approximately 1300-1400 pounds and we've never needed brakes.

Hmmm, how can I get this to Boulder on the cheap?
Drive out, hook it up and camp on the way back. I recommend the Pony Express trail across Nevada!
