Obviously, I cannot count. There are 11 spoken for here. If needed I can wait until another run is put together. I will keep you all posted on the progress.

I can wait, no problem.

It'll be a long time before I need for 72, but the 76 is (hopefully if seller honors his word) going on the road tomorrow.

At 98 degrees, I'd love to roll down rear window.

I would like 2 and don't mind waiting for a second run. How many more will you need spoken for before a second run is possible?

Mtn cruiser - Each run will produce 10 gears. I pay the guy for all of them when they are produced. So, obviously, I am not wanting to sit on too many of these. I will gladly pull the trigger on 10 more when 5 are committed. I already have 1 plus your two, so who knows, maybe we can get another batch rolling back to back.

Haven't forgotten about this, I will be checking in with my guys this week. I hope to hear some good news. I will go ahead and place another order for ten more, too. Thanks for being patient.

I'd like one ASAP as mine as the 'crack' starting on it. Ill be happy to wait on the second one until all the need now guys are taken care of.

Thanks so much for helping us all out!

Update

I spoke with the gear guys today. The brass has been cut, and the fixtures are all made for mass production. There are 10 in process to be made. I went ahead and ordered 10 more today. I am hoping that next week, I will see some gears. The problem is that these guys are the only shop from FL to MI that have the capability to make gears for 100 year old equipment and machinery. They stay booked making emergency gears for big industry. So, unfortunately, our little gear project are not as important. That is one reason, why I went ahead and ordered 10 more, now. Thanks for your patience. We are close.

First set of gears may be done tomorrow. The old guy's arthritis has been acting up, but we are very close.. I have put in another order for 10 more.

Good news guys. I picked up the gears today. They fit on the shaft great and the gear teeth are beautiful. They are heavy and should last 50 years. Unfortunately, they have a few scratches on the sides that occurred during the manufacturing process. I am ready to ship to all interested who are listed a few weeks ago. I will post photos tomorrow. I am guessing that shipping will be around $10 and will give me a couple bucks for gas money. So, when you are ready, PM me for address to mail check. Thanks for being patient.

What's a check?

I heard that elsewhere recently, they are becoming rarer everyday. They were pieces of paper used as currency prior to PayPal, but sometimes turned to rubber and were worthless in that condition.

It's great you're doing this, how long before the second batch is done? Can we use PayPal also?

Finally here...

The plastic orginal gear is on top of the stack in two of the photos...
Good stuff... I will be sending an email to all of those on the list for the first ten.

If you are interested in a gear, PM me and I will put you on the list for the second batch. They have already been ordered. The gear guru is 73 years old, is losing his sight, and has rheumatoid arthritis. I cannot guarantee how many more of these will be made.

Thanks for being patient.

I would say "No Prob", but that would be a lie. I just saw something that I could help out with and ran with it. If everyone on the forum would help out a little, we might get some things done!

I appreciate all who have contributed to my project by answering questions and providing insight. I started back in May with absolutely no knowledge about a LC. Now, I know absolutely two things. It will take the skills of many to keep these beasts going, and the best place for these skills to be showcased are right here on MUD.

My next attempt at helping is with the hinges.

Davegonz, PM me with your address and I will add you to the official list.

I am not sure about the second batch just yet. I am hoping this week or next.
