Are asking about before the engine swap or the 3rd member swap? How was your 1st gear after your swap?
After the 3.73 swap. The 3.73 gears drop the ratio the same as the TC gears. You do have the advantage with the 37" tires. It's definitely a learning curve to drive it now. I kept shifting to soon. Are asking about before the engine swap or the 3rd member swap?
When it became a diesel with 4.11 I never needed first gear. After the 3.73 swap I have to use it or else it would smoke too much
you're right. thank God the engine has enough torque, it would have really sucked if it was the 3fe. at 70mph my engine is turning about 1800 rpm. that's great until you hit an incline.Problem with regearing axles is you loose some of your low range. I didn't want to give that up.
He did seem to move out of the way didn't he.Didn't seem like too much to me, but it looks like that white Tahoe would disagree. Lol
I put the GoPro on the rear pandhard so I can see how much smoke I am blowing. It's so hard to tell trying to use the side mirror.
Yeah It's a whole different sound underneath.I can sure hear that distinct split case whine in that video. I like it though. Brings back memory's of riding in my dads 60 as a kid.
Very little. I'll try to get a video of driving in cab sometime this week. How much of that whine do you hear in the cab?
I was pushing it but more than normal and it only smoked when shifting to 4th and 5th.It looks like it only smokes at shift points. Not to long though. Or was that with every hit of the throttle. Were you running it hard or just normal driving? If normal than if say tighten the star just a bit. I could live with that.
