Nice vids!

What are your EGTs like now?
Haven't seen anything real high. Most was 800. Probe on the top of the down pupe. Once the get off the boost it cools down fast. I haven't gone up a hill yet.

2600rpm at 70? what gears and size tires are you running? is that tach calibrated correctly?
Stock 4.10 gears and 35's. RPMs are high. I have TC gears coming once back in stock which should help. The tach jumps a bit until it warms up.

They pull hard huh? Puts a smile on my face.
Yes it does. Can't wait to take it back to Big Bend next month to see how it does into the headwind climbing the hills on I10. It was effortless last time but this go around I want to see how the EGTs are when passing going up hill. I'm going to move my probe from the downpipe to the manifold for better readings.

Great, forgot about those headwinds. I'll be an hour behind you.
With my gearing I try to stay around 65 so depending on how everyone else drives I may be the tailgunner. Our advantage is not having to stop as much for fuel.

Put the Egdestar fridge/freezer in the back. Much bigger than I thought it would be. When I open the lid it grazes my attic rack which is not ideal it holds it open since I can't open it all the way. I'm kinda going to miss traveling with my metal Coleman. It's been with me for over 10 years collecting stickers along the way.

that looks like a great alternative to the ARB fridge. How do you like it so far other than the lid rubbing on the attic?
I only got it last week so I don't know yet. I shouldn't have spent the money right now but it popped up in stock so for only $292 shipped I had to snag it. Worked great sitting in the living room plugged in. Set it at 37 and it held it there. Now I need to run cable to the back of the 80 to add a 12v outlet.

Your tach seems to be jumping around a little in your 50-70 video. Loose wire somewhere?

Something. It always jumps a tad right at 2K and bounces if the temp is around freezing until the engine warms up. Weird but I'm used to it.

I did some more prep for next months Big Bend trip this morning. Made better handles for the fridge and made a carabiner lanyard for turning off the interior lights with the rear gate open. Fits perfectly in the latch and hopefully the lanyard stops me from closing it without removing it first. Used some 1,800lb strength flat rope for both. Fuel line was used for a better grip.

I'd keep an eye on that EGT gauge, especially once you put those other gears in. 800 in the downpipe is probably 1000-1100 pre-turbo EGT.

It would serve you well to put your probe in the exhaust manifold rather than in the downpipe. More accurate reading that way.

Agree. I need to dig out my tap set to see if I have the right one. The gears won't go in for awhile. They won't be back in stock til early March.

Removed rear heater piping. A couple bolts and some cuts with the sawsall and it came right out. Also replaced diff breather tube with new fuel line. Front was run up to the heater control valve area and the rear is in the same spot for now.

Buy those split case gears!!! I am curious to see what your RPMs will be at Interstate speeds.

Looks like it's time to figure out if my front window motors or the runs are failing. I opened window to push in gate code at work this morning and it needed assistance to get back up. It was Texas cold, high 30's, and rainy.
