No real updates. Trucks been running great. It's been the family hauler to lots of tourist destinations around the Colorado Springs area this week. Finally let the lady drive it tonight which made me a bit nervous but she did fine. Getting a lot of double takes when we drive by or park. Got one more day of vacation and then it's back to the heat in Austin. I have big list of to dos for the truck when I get back that include:
Finish installing roof lights
Install Land Cruiser Phil's sliders
Seal up all the factory roof rack holes and paint roof
Replace worn interior pieces with the better pieces from the LX.
Spray another coat of Raptor liner. Should have done this to begin with.
Replace heater core. Dreading this one.
Replace diff fluid

What did the wife think about the engine swap and subsequent experience pre/post swap?
First off she thinks I'm crazy to have four 4WD vehicles but she knows it's my hobby so I don't get to much grieve about it. When I first got the 80 she loved the fact that she could load up the boys, couple of their friends, skateboards and bikes all in one vehicle. However when it got taller she started to complain a bit that she couldn't get in it as easily but still had no complaints how it rode or drove. She drives a Scion Xb 5sp as her DD.
Post conversion not much has changed. Still complained when getting in. She was surprised that it doesn't shake or rattle and that interior engine noise is quieter than she expected. The split case actually whines loader than the engine at cruising speed. The granny first gear and clutch took her a few lights to get used to but after that she drove like a champ. We will see if she asks to drive it once back at home. I imagine she won't have any issues driving it. The whole time we have been on vacation everyone has wanted to ride with me even on the hot days knowing I don't have A/C at the moment.

LOL! Love the comment about the transfer case whine. My wife says the same thing. The marks gears make it even worse :(

I figure some sound deadening with take care of it. Its on the do list anyway. Right now if the radio is on I don't really notice it.

I installed dynamat from the firewall back to the rear seats and then added dynapad over that on the trans tunnel. Made a huge difference in the overall noise level. It helps with the heat too. My trans tunnel would get pretty warm.

Made it back home today. Feels good to be back after being gone for three weeks. The truck still fits in the garage. I was worried the 1" body lift may stop it from living inside. The garage door height was a major factor when we bought the house.

I haven't figured out how many miles I put on during the trip yet but I think it is around 3,500. I thought for sure I would have some issues since the conversion was so fresh, but everything worked like it should. Great job by Josesy's/Duiser getting it done and ready to go. However I did add one more thing to my to do list. The stupid rubber trim on my lower DS window started pealing up and by the time I got home it was pretty much shredded.

Very nice build!!!!

Owning a Dodge CTD 6sp your LC has to be a mini monster. MPG looks great in comparison to what I get.

Sounds like the build has been solid since you picked it up, kudo's to the builder and good choice on your part.

Maybe I missed it but is the cruise control tied in?

Thanks Phil. So far I love it. As for cruise I don't have it. They could have rigged up something but I chose not to. I rarely ever used it.

NICE Cruiser! I would have loved to check out your Cruiser in person when you were in Co. Springs. I just bought my first 80 for the family, gave up my two 12 valve Cummins Dodge trucks and now driving the 80. I wish I could do a swap like this legally here in Denver someday.

Now that you're back in Austin you're gonna have to come down and do a PINS run with us at the end of the month.
Sounds fun but I don't think I can swing it. My work schedule is brutal the next couple mounts. I will be out of town a lot. The time I have in town will be a big project with the LC. I need to tear open the dash and replace heater core. Since I will have it taken apart the plan is to strip out the interior at the same time and sound proof it.

no worries, the local club always has something going on. I'm sure we'll meet up at one of the events eventually.

Took off the MT sliders and added LC Plil's sliders. I need to step on a scale with the MT's to see how much weight I just shed. I forgot how heavy they were. I also took off the small beauty plate on the passenger side that I assume was their to attempt to hide the cats?

I added some diesel stickers, left over from my VW, to the fuel door and around the cap. I dont want the wifey to accidentally put gas in it. Also installed the clear side lenses from the LX on the 80.

No problem getting inspection this morning. They didn't say anything about not having a real muffler. Diesels are safety only in Texas so I paid my $14.50 and was in and out pretty quick.
