Any concerns with the snorkel flowing enough air for that HX35?

It is a concern. Joel has installed an big air cleaner which the Cummins needs. As of now the snorkel will have the option of being hooked up if needed otherwise it will not be connected. I will have to look into a custom snorkel in the future. Looking forward to seeing the air cleaner and it's connection. Its getting finalized this week.

Its official, I booked travel to pick up the LC this Sunday. Worked out good that I will be in San Fran this weekend for work so I just changed my flight home to go to Portland instead. Once I pick up my month long journey begins. Originally I planned to start in Austin with the family and head to Colorado for two weeks. Now I will be meeting them there which is good forced to drive the Jeep, giving us two 4x4s to play around with. Another bonus is I will arrive early giving me time to hang out with one of my best friends who moved to Denver recently.
Haven't figured out my route to Denver yet but I'm sure Moab will be a stop. Some other possibilities may include Crater Lake and Canyonlands. Any other suggestions? Remember I will be traveling alone so no off the grid solo treks.

Ive been thinking a lot about this for mine. I was thinking a custom air box plumbed into the snorkel but also with the "deck plate mod". Basically a giant hole in the air box it can suck from as well but that is able to be sealed for crossings.
Take the backside of CA to Alturas then drop down to Tahoe and then to Carson City and take Rt 50 across Nevada. Perfect for a truck like this.
Then south of Delta, UT, pickup I15 to I70 to Moab and have your family meet you there.

I'll have to map that route and see how it looks. Only plans of now is meeting my buddy in Denver on the 14th for some rafting. Then on to Colorado Springs to meet the family. Rented a house west of town for 10 days. My stepsons will be getting their first trip into the mountains so I'm hoping they enjoy it. May let the oldest one, 14, drive a bit. Not the LC but the Jeep. He may get that when he turns 16 if he enjoys wheeling.

A must-see when in the Portland area is the Multnomah Falls in the Columbia Gorge, lots of other waterfalls can be seen from road side stops and many beautiful hikes. If you go farther up the Gorge be sure to stop at the fish hatchery and see Herman the Nine Foot Sturgeon! Sounds like you may be traveling through eastern Oregon, some interesting sights slightly off the main roads are Hole in the Ground, Crack in the Ground and Fort Rock, all natural formations – dirt roads to the first two, no 4WD needed. On the Oregon/ Idaho border is Hells Canyon, been there twice, probably would be too time consuming for your trip. South east part of the state the Steens Mountains are supposed to be a must see (part of my trip to the CruiserFest this fall). Been following your thread as an option if my head gasket goes, since I live just east of Portland. Enjoy the trip in your even more awesome 80

Its done! Going to pick up Mr Cimarron at the airport shortly!
Few things;
The front end suspension drop is very close to 1" and only occurred once the ARB Winch bumper was added. A couple spacers and she will be all level again.
Also, notice the sound of the diesel/ exhaust. Very reasonable. The exhaust system has a spark arrestor, that's it. No muffler.
Otherwise, extremely fun to drive!
