Here we go! I’m about to open my package from @cruiserland

I was attempting to PM because I saw through the classified section that you were looking for parts and @cruiserland was attempting to make contact with you. I wanted to give you a heads up that it was most likely as scam and save you from the situation of loosing your money, like I just did. I dont know you, I never interacted with you on the forum, but you're welcome. At least I considred you; but, like you said, your inbox was full. May this thread remain up.

@cruiserland. And lastly, I did not bother to PM you since you wouldn't have believed me either way. The "package" was not lost. This is the package which I received and it should look familiar to you. The photos show the box you sent, the letterhead, etc. I didn't open it immediately the day of when I received it. I got home from work and fell asleep. There's nothing wrong with that. Indeed, it's very ridiculous; not everybody will believe my side of the story.
I appreciate you looking out for me. I believe something possibly went wrong at the post office. I mailed a manifold years ago to someone on here and he apparently received a box with used shoes and other miscellaneous items. Even the hand writing on the box wasn’t mine but had my info on it. I don’t know if the individual I sold the manifold to really got it or the post office screwed up because the box possibly fell apart. At the end of the day I refunded his money back.
I hope both of you work it out!

I have recently been buying parts from Kina with no problems and super clear and honest representation of parts - actually great prices for parts and completely a good experience. A box of corn? I don't think so.

I just wish someone would send me a box of lima beans...

Yeah… I’m just going to chime in… because it’s the internet and it’s apparently more acceptable to accuse without evidence than it would be face to face to resolve the issue… or attempt to contact the ‘injuring party’ to resolve the issue.

To the OP. I think we’re all fairly certain you received a box of corn.., because you provided the picture of said corn. However…
1. The first place you came to was IH8MUD and report @cruiserland as a ‘Bad Seller’ with no evidence. Seriously, as a vendor, would YOU pay to send a box of moldy corn to an address?? If you were to sell an item, would your first thought be how to best deceive the recipient out of $100.00 minus shipping. Less in this case as the seller paid an additional $6.00 out of pocket to get the ‘fake item’ to you.
2. The shipping label appears legitimate. My question to the OP. Did you RECEIVE 20lbs 11.0oz of corn? From the looks of the label, @cruiserland actually went to a local Post Office and visited a retail associate that weighed and measured the package to calculate the amount of postage required to ship it to you in Texas.
3. Mail theft and fraud is a legitimate problem at the USPS… as well as other shipping companies. At least with the USPS, it is considered a federal offense with mail fraud/mail theft. That said, refer to #2. I doubt the corn weighed in at 20lbs 11.0oz as noted by the shipping label. I believe somewhere along the line… for whatever reason… someone did tamper with your package, retrieved whatever item was inside and replaced it with the aforementioned corn. Again… refer to #2. Thieves are becoming bold enough to rob carriers and break into USPS mailboxes to retrieve mail. There have also been instances of FedEx and Amazon trucks being heisted similar to railroad robberies of old.
4. Your package is insured for up to $100.00… and optionally more if paid for… but like all insurance claims, it must be initiated, in this case via the USPS website online at usps.com. No insurance company or USPS can forecast (aka Minority Report) the fact that you may/may not have a valid claim.
5. You mentioned sending a cashier’s check. A cashier’s check is like a money order… it is the same as cash, because the funds needed to be available in order to issue that financial instrument. @cruiserland should not have to wait 6+ days for that ‘cashier’s check’ to clear.

I’m not here to beat the OP down. He probably does have a legitimate complaint, however, given the evidence, I’m not sure the target of his complaint is a legitimate one.

@cruiserland, either you or @DesertFJ40 can initiate the claim on the USPS website. USPS is going to want photos, receipts, etc. It’s an involved process… much like most insurance claims.

It’s hard enough keeping these venerable vehicles running and on the road… we don’t have enough dedicated vendors as it is, the more we lose… the more WE lose…

The packaging was taped up/sealed and I used my pocket knife to cut open the taped parts of the box..... The only way I'll be able to get some reimbursement back is through USPS, like @SFCDiablo mentioned. It'll be a hard case to prove, all the evidence I will be able to provide is what I've posted on here.

From what you mentioned, sending a box of corn doesn't make sense for a legitimate business/vendor that would be wishing for repeat customers. But, it can also be a way to guarantee that anyone trying to make a claim has difficulty doing so. The tracking number shows the package sent by @cruiserland was delivered at my address. I have the said box. I imagine USPS will have a hard time believing I didn't get what I ordered, since the box was delivered. The best I can do is try and see where it goes.

It also doesn't make sense for someone wishing to steal the package contents somewhere between shipping and arrival and replace the contents rather than just taking the entire package.

I'll provide any update if anything else comes of this but for now this is all that I can think of adding. I'm glad nobody that has posted in defense of @cruiserland mentioned they've lost out doing transactions with him. This is my first time doing buisness with him and this is the outcome. Id expect anyone else, under similar circumstances, to do the same. That is what the purpose of this section of the forum is for.

What you don’t seem to be understanding is that since you didn’t contact him privately before posting here, you didn’t even give him a chance to correct the situation, you went straight to dragging his name through the mud when you really don’t know for sure what happened.
So no, that is not the purpose of this section.

If you were purchasing from me I wouldn’t have even shipped the part until after the check cleared. Which, it seems it still hasn’t.

Furthermore, add me to the list of those who have bought parts multiple times from Kina without issue.

Word.

My money is on the box being busted or broke open during transit along with other boxes and there was a mix up during repackaging by a USPS employee that didn't want to be in hot water. Happens often when the shipment is poorly packaged to start with or there was double stacking when there shouldn't have been.

It happens often with our LTL shipments from fedex at work. Since we do so much business with fedex, they are more receptive to resolving issues like that, but USPS is just awful when it comes to claims.

I've also bought parts from Kina and can confirm I didn't receive cucumbers instead.

Receiving a box of corn is wild enough to where I can't imagine you making this up for no reason, but I'm still skeptical. I got scammed on eBay for a set of wrenches and they just shipped me an envelope with a torn piece of paper in it.

If you were getting scammed, why would someone spend $66 to ship something that is fraudulent anyway?

agreed — spending $66 to ship bogus corn cruiser parts is dumber than dumb. The great corn heist.

Guys, just start a loss claim with usps already and be done with this thread, its obviously a theft/swap and you two should just let the usps people weigh in

Head postmaster here told me today that since the package was delivered, the recipient should start the claim. Happy to provide what I can to resolve this. The check also cleared my bank today.
