I have news for you, cancel culture started decades ago. I remember parents trying to ban me from little league because they thought I didn’t shake a couches hand in the early 80’s, thank god some random mom had one of those big as. Video recorders that proved my innocence.

Not to belabor the point, but there is a qualitative difference between being able to face your accusers, and having your reputation challenged by a bunch of keyboard cowboys who are emboldened by their anonymity.
Yes, both are mob mentalities. But I maintain that the anonymity of social media is worse by an exponential factor.

Having shipped loads of stuff through USPS I'm confident that I know what happened.
While the box was maliciously and repeatedly assaulted in the sorting facility the box tore open and the top cover came out and was either badly damaged or the the crime scene wasn't witnessed. So once the open box was discovered a quick thinking employee found some loose corn from another catastrophe and solved 2 crimes in one shot.
I'm basing this on my experience back when I first started to sell seat brackets. I was using VHS shipping boxes and got a call from a customer that while hes was appreciative in getting the Porn Tape, he really wanted the seat brackets.

I too have purchased corn, I mean parts, from @cruiserland. He’s a stand up seller who is on my “contact/recommend first” list for random parts.

I also believe the OP was out of line by not trying to settle this privately before attempting to smear the reputation of someone who doesn’t deserve it.
It is entirely probable that someone stole the contents, replaced the original contents with something else that weighs something to confuse the system and not raise any suspicions until it was opened.
Thief sees $60 shipping, thinks heavy equals expensive, takes thing.
