You were NOT kidding about mechanics in CA!
Anyone have any reviews or feedback about World Tour Offroad in Annapolis, MD? I see they have gotten a lot of great reviews on Google. I think they mostly specialize in Jeeps. They gave me a pretty reasonable estimate to do some work on my 90 FJ62. I'm trying to get lockers and gears installed and a H55F conversion if I can afford it. I'm just trying to do my research before I pull the trigger. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
I had a great experience with KG Performance in Fitzwilliam NH. Patrick over there fixed a leak I had in my diesel lift pump. He also did my timing belt, water pump, radiator swap, fan clutch and some other basic work. ( He worked with me on a quick turn turbo swap and high flow airbox install last year as well) I have a couple of hundred miles on my rig since the work was done and everything is working perfectly. The shop does both maintenance mechanic work as well as modification and high end fabrication. I'd highly recommend that shop for anyone in VT, NH or MA.
Done. Rented one of those in Costa Rica. Fantastic truck, love the way the diesel drives.

In addition to general maintenance, tune up etc, they recently performed a 5 speed swap with new clutch and rebuilt transfer case for my 1986 FJ60. Geoff is the owner and is an excellent mechanic. He was very familiar with the older Toyotas.

I double checked the New Hampshire section of the list and didn't find KG Performance in there. Did it accidentally get put under a different state?

You missed a good one in Utah called “A Rusted Development”. It is in Heber Utah. I was missing a steering dampener and some other small broken parts and they hooked me up. Great people!

Tim Blair owner "Blair's Garage", 755 Columbus Ave, Lebanon, OH 45036. Check him out on youtube under tug-a-truck. He used a FJ w/a 5.9L: Cummins. It got to serious so he went to tractor pulls with it. He added twin turbos which bumped him up to the unlimited class. He was actually winning quite a few. Very good mechanic, has my Bandy, doing ALOT of work on her.

I created this FJ60 Mechanics Gsheet because I didn't think the forum was a very good way to list mechanics. I use to have a map version but google shut down fussion and I haven't found a replacement. See if any of these are close to you. I use google maps to try and find a mechanic with high ratings and then google them to find corroboration. Hasn't always worked but I'd say 80% were good mechanics and 100% were honest and hardworking.
Tim’s Toy Shop in Longmont Co: Tim has retired and sadly, I cannot recommend the new owners, B&G Automotive. The next best Toyota mechanics near Longmont are at Stapp Interstate Toyota.
