The trans is bolted to the engine, so moving it only requires some minor alterations to shifter clearance & routing parking brake, speedo cables(should be no problem). Driveshafts can occasionally be swapped with trans move. I only paid $80 to have both of mine cut & lengthened

In all of my searching & my recent experience, kits weren't really as easy or useful to my liking. Everyone has different needs or wants different a different outcome from the swap. So I decided to buy adapters piece by piece (some used & cheaper) I went with the Chevy NV4500 5-speed because by the time I paid for marks kit I could afford a transmission & by the time I moved the 3-speed back a few inches (if I went with the cheaper AA kit) I would have spent enough time & thought that I should have done it right.
summit racing seemed to have the best prices on most Advanced Adapters parts. I would browse the forums some searching for swaps and upgrades & make a huge pros & cons list to include: cost, time of work, difficulty of labor, specialty work required, best use (street/trail/economy/power/comfort) and such, at some point you'll know exactly what you want to do with every step of the progress.
Going from a 2F 3-speed vacuum shift t-case to a carbed 305, 5-speed & twin stick on t-case it took a lot of planning & long nights in the garage but it was all totally worth it.
If you just swap the motor but then want to change the t-case or trans layer your adapters will also need to change so all the money you invested adapters is useless & you'll have to start over again. That's why it's best to do it once.
