I picked some, but did not complete all days.
I was considering an overnight run with Georg, but maybe I'll just stick with @shmukster and my club...?
@Crusha, you up for the two day overnight?

So what is the plan? Tuesday through sunday? Im debating coming out to ride along with someone. What would the travel days be and what would I need to plan for.

Way to go pacer! Hope you can make it happen.

Well I made my flight reservation and booked a rental car today. Plan is to fly into Denver, pick up the guys from CCLC Monday when their flights get in and head west on I-70 to Moab. Hopefully my truck will be there when I arrive!

I think CLCC drivers (@Von Hayek -Bart, @TRFCSUX-Steve) are planning on leaving Friday to drive out. Hope to be there Monday.

I have yet to book my flight, but plan on arriving on Monday and leave on Sunday. @shmukster , and @Pacer, and myself are reistered.
Shipping for our rigs is not yet confirmed, and there is the possibility that Aaron and I may drive home...maybe.

As far as planning...plan on a week of awesome wheeling and sight seeing, meeting new people, and bring what you need for camping.
I have 14 tent sites reserved at the base campground. I think about 8-10 of these are spoken for so far.

If you do decide to go, I believe you have to register, even if you aren't driving

Are there any other Keystone Cruiser members interested in going on this trip. I still have a handful of reserved tent sites available. You don't have to ship or drive your truck, and could just ride along.

Done.

I just reserved fourteen single tent sites, Tent Sites | Slickrock Campground, numbers 125-133 and 157-161. These are in the lower right corner of the map diagram, and in the satellite image, they are at the very bottom center. If you cant the diagram 45 degrees to the right, you can see where they are on the image, use the rest rooms/shower square as a reference point.

These sites are a mix of sheltered, and unsheltered. I've never been to Slickrock, but thought this looked like a good area to set up.

I made the reservations for Monday May 2nd through Sunday the 8th. Cruise Moab officially starts on the 3rd.

Cost is $197.66 for the week per site. No need to talk about reimbursement until we're much closer to the event

I've started a thread on our Keystone Cruisers page as well, Cruise Moab anyone? and hopefully some of my fellow members will make this trip, it could become a co-club event, which I think would be pretty cool.

For the record, I get the best site :flipoff2:

Only the driver needs to register for the event but passengers will need to pay the $5/day BLM fee.

Thanks guys. It's going to be too much of a time comitment this year. I would like to try and plan a future trip however. and I did actually have a easy time getting permission to go.:)

I am flying out Sunday the 1st of May and flying home tuesday the 10th. Might extend the trip to see some friends in the Siverotn area depends what the wife says! Looks like Crusha has successfully made the shipping arrangements (thanks Greg!) so we're that much closer to having everything nailed down. Not sure if Aaron, Greg and i wuill wheel together at Moab but you can bet we'll be doing some socializing at the very least! Bob Bascom from the Caital City group is riding shotgun with me and sharing expenses I am so looking forward to wheeling at Moab!

I love it when a plan comes together.

The drive is part of the adventure IMO. I did it 2 years in a row in 2011 and 2012, pulling my M416. The drive is really easy until you pull out of Denver. Make sure to eat at Oklahoma Joe's in Kansas City.
The Gotham guys are starting to plan for a Moab trip in 2017. This year we're doing GSMTR.

Jon- bet you wouldn't think the drive aross country to Moab was fun in my 40! I did the PA to Denver drive many times back when i was going to CO every year. Usually it was in one of the 4Runenrs I had, all were good vehicles and all got me there and back.

True. I was pretty comfortable in my 91 FJ80, but really looking forward to the drive in the Lexus.

I spent about 2 weeks researching and going through brokers to try to ship multiple trucks in 2012. From what I remember, the quoted prices were dependent on the transporter's schedule. Once I started to specify pick up and drop off dates the prices doubled and then some. I had found some storage options in and around Moab that were reasonable, but many of our trucks were daily drivers. It fell apart rather quickly after that and we just drove round trip with some of us trailering their trucks.
In any case, it is a great adventure to take with good friends and it was the single best time I had in 20+ years of this nonsense.

Got the 40 pretty well prepped for Moab. All fluid levels topped off, knuckle nuts tightened, track bar repaired, new valve stems on all four tires and wheels, new storage box packed, new fire extinguisher and chargeable flashlight installed, ready to go to Utah!

What, no espresso machine?

Well the first step in the trip is underway- the rollback picked up my 40 today, taking it to Crusha's shop in Phoenixville outside of Philly. The transport truck will pick up my truck, Crusha's, and Aaron's at Greg's shop. Here we go!!!!
