Got the track bar fixed, picked up the new bushing this morning, fitted it to the (already prepped) track bar, tacked and tested, then final welded. it's on the bench in my basement now with a coat of paint drying on it. Worked out well thankfully fixed here in PA rather than at Moab! looks like StevO is back on track with his fifth gear problem hopefully being fixed. Four weeks to Moab!

Gary, I thought something was up with the track bar... it got a little wobbly over 90mph! :)

Did you fill up the drawers yet?!

Well, there's the pics of my new storage cabinets! Ben did a helluva job on them and they actually make the truck look better! Yes all the gear i had stashed in my plastic boxes and bins has been stored in the drawers and there is a considerabeamount of room left! Figure when I get my tools packed the drawers should be about filled. Got the new fire extinguisher and bracket mounted to the rollbar behind the driver seat, too.
Ben if you got ym truck up to 90MPH I hope you were hanging on!

That looks great!
I would like to do something like that that to hook my rear seat nounts.
Not like I use them for seats!!

here's what the track bar looked like before repair. It was thin wall tubing with steel-sleeved rubber bshings inside. I replace it with a bushing machined from a piece of 2" round steel. Nothing pivots on this end so steel is fine. the other end attaches to my skid plate with a flexible link. Came out nice!

Started getting my crap together to take to Jeff's. I've found tents out the wazoo but I'm still searching for the rest of my camping gear following the move. The hunt continues ...

Hey guys it's Matt Bascom Bobs son. I know I'm late to the party but I figured I'd see if I could make it out to Moab somehow. I believe my dad ( Bob 76Fj40 ) said he had room for a tent at his spot so that leaves getting there and most importantly if someone would have a seat for me on the trails. I'd be fine with either flying there or riding out. If someone has a spare seat for my but to ride in on the trails I'd be happy to help with gas, food, BEER or whatever.

Thanks guys! If it works out great if not it wasn't meant to be.

Matt, would love to see you out there. I am not certain of the total count we have and available seats. We may have room with CLCC trucks, and then there are also our good friends from the Keystone club that may have passenger space. I have 4 seats. I know three are spoken for between my friend who is coming and Chris Blowers who is driving the Taco out there. Chris may be bringing his wife, but haven't heard anything definite there. There is also Traveldud who was chirping about needing a seat with Steve, but have not heard if he is definite or not. Greg "Crusha" has a wagon being shipped, and not sure who he has signed on with him. If people post their situations, I'm sure we can figger it out.

I guess the main thing is that I need to make certain that I've got a seat for my but so that I can either book a flight or make whatever arrangements to get out there. I'd be willing to even keep Chris company and make the trip out with him if he'd, you'd like. Obviously contingent on his wife!!! I'd be more than happy to help pay for food, gas, beer or what have you as well. Let me know what ya think please!

Matt @HeepEtr2 come on out--whether you fly-in or ride with the CLCC caravan, I have space for you in my rig (FJ60), as this trip is only myself and a black lab. Stump will be riding with me and/or hot seating among the CLCC trucks.

Ok great then I'll see about getting there! I figure when else am I going to have a chance to go to the holy land (Moab) let alone with friends. I appreciate the help and I'll do my best to find a way out there. SAS I'd love a seat and will get back to ya.

Matt,
Sounds like you are all set. I would imagine Chris would enjoy the company and additional driver help if you have time on your hands to make the road trip.

SAS,
I think this is Tracy, based on the Colorado address. Do you know the deal with bringing a dog on the trails? I want to bring my Vizsla. I have been told that some of our trails might be in National parks that don't allow pets. I wasn't sure how to find out the skinny. Many times it seems the rule might be on paper, but nobody cares once you get there.

Does any have any extra riding space as well? I ask since I to will not be driving- leaving my toys at home. As a bonus- not that any one will need this... I went through the US Army Armor School Recovery Course (H8) and may be able to help with comparable vehicles over 20 tons... Kidding. But the class was helpful for recovering really stuck or broken equipment. And I will have beef jerky. Any takers?

I have plenty of space, I'm sure you'll have no problem finding others too, especially with beef jerky on offer.

@Tikicruiser Jeff, I called to ask the question directly, but got Zepp's voice mail. If you want to follow up and ask specific questions, his contact info is (from the registration page):
Contact the Cruise Moab 2016 committee chairman: Jeff Zepp, (303)674-2386, registration@cruisemoab.com.

I reviewed the websites for both Arches NP and Canyonlands NP.

Generally, pets are allowed in Arches NP, but restricted. Owners must keep them away from visitors centers and off the hiking trails.

Canyonlands webpage says "Pets are not allowed on any hiking trails or in the backcountry, even on a boat or in a vehicle."

Specific info can be viewed on the park pages:

Pets - Arches National Park (U.S. National Park Service) (Arches NP)

Park Regulations - Canyonlands National Park (U.S. National Park Service) (Canyonlands NP)

Additionally, and you may have already seen it--Slickrock Campground has their own pet policies. On their home page, hover the top banner "Make Your Reservation" and select "Policies" from the drop down menu.

I'm bringing Percy, my black lab.
