I see I've opened up a bit of a :worms: I've been doing a lot of research and mostly trying to check out members' rig builds and pics. I've narrowed it down to this at this point: it really seems like a 100 can more easily be made into the expedition type rig I'm looking to build, but after driving the 200, it would be my first choice, hands down if could be modified as easily and end up the way I want. My pre-concieved major desires are these:
2" lift±
305 tires (wider 33's than 285's)
Front bumper
Winch?
Rear bumper w/ tire and jerry can carriers
Roof rack
Rear cargo drawers with fridge
Dual Battery
Rear locker?

I hate to say it at this point, but I feel like I'm leaning toward the 2006-2007. It seems like there's more concrete info and aftermarket components available. Still open minded and doin' my research though :D

Everything on your list is fairly readily available for a US spec 200 with the possible exception of the parts for a dual battery setup. True, there are not as many choices for a 200 in the US for a rear bumper as there are for a 200 but there is still at least one choice.

I have owned both a 100 and a 200, and for my current use, the 200 is a better all round vehicle with fewer compromises.

I would not think that availability of pieces parts for an expo build would be a heavy determining factor in choosing a 100 vs a 200 - for me at least.

You'd be dumb to justify a 100 over a 200 budget not withstanding.

Search better. I'm running 315s 2" plus lift full icon. Rides like a dream. Looks even better. 100s cry. Lol

Though I'm not the one being asked, some parts that WOULD be nice is a cargo barrier, tube sliders, a low profile front bumper (and rear bumper), steel skid plates, dual battery (group 31 size) set-up, engine driven air compressor and an aux fuel tank.

I'm not going to lie, you've got a great looking 200, but the truth is that at some level, price/budget needs to be considered.

Granted, you will not have 10 varieties to choose of aftermarket parts for each item on your wish list. Tell me this, what does this truck have that you feel is lacking:

For all that the 200 has to offer, I'm still struggling with the overall look with the tire size limitations, the lack of pretty much any front bumper that looks good and the fact that my two favorite rear bumpers are the Slee, which they aren't producing and the Kaymar which costs about what a Smart Car can be had for :D

I think that if we end up with a 200, we'll be going bumperless...

Thanks for responding to my post like a man. Straight up, no drama.

And believe me, if I had a bigger budget, I would be driving a Lumma Range Rover and not care an ounce about long-term reliability. Reality is, I do care a great deal about bulletproof, trustworthy trucking and the Land Cruiser kills all in this realm.

Gl with your search. Just don't short change yourself. Life is short.
