Is anybody noticing the body cracking in a similar area? It’s happening on both sides.

isn’t it weird??? Idk if it’s caused by my sliders hitting the pinch welds on the body allot or what
Or we just drive pilesI’m going to say not as it’s happening to other members and I don’t think there wheeling as had as we do![]()
Yeah I assumed the rust happened after the crack formed. I was thinking about bribing a friend to rig it with silicon bronze it and hope that’ll hold it together but let it flex a littleThe crack seems to be due to ?? metal fatigue first, then the rust. If you look at that area it appears it's been stamped out of one piece of steel with some acute angles than add stress from flexing of the quarter panel, rear door closing, etc, etc. IME it does seem to be more common on the left side however.
IDK if a couple of small tack welds in that area would help, or a small brace welded behind the crack, but getting up in there might be difficult??
ute chopping it will fix my issueIt’s all a catch 22. if you weld it it will burn all the paint off the inside and cause more rust.
Luckily my lives a sheltered life inside so the rust doesn’t look so bad. And why I haven’t noticed it.
Don’t do itute chopping it will fix my issue
This ^^^Maybe clean up the rust and just throw some touchup paint over it and call it a day. Should last another 50 years lol.
