You would be better off getting another block or motor. All that work and then putting it back together and it then lets go or leaks somewhere else.
It may only cost $200-$300 to fix the crack but you are still going to spend another $700 or there abouts on a rebuild kit. Put that money into doing some head work.
This is a great thread and it shows you one thing, the success rate and time involved is against you. Could have rebuilt a second engine in this time & money frame. But it does answer a lot of questions for me and that is I would get another engine to rebuild and that is why this thread is so good, it has saved me a learning curve.
