Hello all
(First Post)
I have a 1966 fj40.
It has no cowl vent. The vent in front of the windshield frame.
I got this cruiser from my boss who got it from a distant family member who got it from my grandfather who got it from my uncle who...
It has been in my family for a long time not counting my boss.
It does not have a vent in front of the windshield frame like other Cruisers that I have seen.
When did this vent dissapear?
I got this Cruiser from my boss shortly after I started working for him. It is mostly stock 3 on the tree, vac transfer case,F motor.
I rembember me and my brothers beating (learning to drive;)) this Cruiser in the family vineyard just outside of the Napa Valley not to many years ago.
I will post pics in the next few days.
Just wondering when the cowl vent went away
Thanks for looking
Charlie

Welcome, first of all !

It most likely a 1965 from the sounds of It, Most 66 to mid 77 had cowl vent.

post up some pictures?

What about Frame #

More INFO needed ;)

Wow fast reply Dusty 66
The frame number is FJ40-34474
Thanks for the fast reply
My boss has a 65ish with the cowl vent. That is my reason for the question.
I will have pics as soon as I can upload them. (photobucket?)
Thanks Charlie
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

SOR lists the windshield vent parts as applying 1958-1964. My 1965 model year manufactured ?summer of 64 has a windshield vent.

I agree with Dusty that your truck is probably not a 1966 model. It may have been first registered in 1966 having sat on the dealer's lot for a year or two.

my 64 and 65 dont have cowl vents good luck
