Correct Orientation of Marlin Heavy Duty Axle Seals (1 Viewer)

Laying out parts in preparation for first knuckle job, I noticed that the Marlin heavy duty axle seals have what appears to be a flange. Stupid question of the day: Does the flange of the seal go toward the diff or vise versa?
