the ones on the side, postive

ones on the back, negative

"positive" meaning it would be OK to get rid of them?

I am only talking about the front fender amber light. Thanks

If I am not mistaken the stock fender turn signals are not visible from the side while blincking anyway. The apron lights are simpley "marker" lights and do not flash. The only requirement I know of is the visible flasher facing head on and from reverse. All other "marker" lights are not required unless you live in Europe.

I am not sure about this. Most 1967 year model vehicles in the U.S. had no reflectors on the side. In 1968, all cars had reflectors or lit bulbs that were visible from the side. Cruisers in that year got reflectors. (round). These were not optional, they were required by law. Later, these changed from being reflectors to being lighted. They do not "blink", but do come on when the lights are on.

1) what state are you in?

2) i have been running with out rear side markers for over 10 years ....no issues...and thats in NY ...they are strict with most stuff...and lived in mass ...with no issues.

3) inspection stations dont care if they dont know...and they never know...if it looks stock then it is...if you have a hole were a light should be then its an issue

do what ever you want...it will not be an issue...only to us :)

The light on the front fenders can go for sure.

In Delaware, D.M.V. required me to have the rear,(red), marker light operating before I could pass inspection on my 79. They said safety issue since you could not see any of the tail lights from the side at 90 %. Jeff:idea:

Clarification - Manufacturers were required by DOT to install side reflectors or lights on all new '68 models. There is no federal requirement for owners to keep them.

Thank you all. No they do not flash, and I also still have the ones on the apron. I will probably get rid of them, but it will be a game time decision.
