My '80s will be getting Depos with HID projector upgrades toward that end. For long range I am fitting them with 7 inch (halogen) aircraft landing lights (loose spot/tight driving beam pattern).
Tons of great tech info in here about automotive lighting. Everything I've done as far as mods I've considered I've run by Dan first to see if it was a good idea or not. Some have been, some haven't. He recently gave me some great ideas to improve the OEM headlights and fog lights of our 3rd generation Avalon. The man knows his s***. Read all the tech info on his web site, and if you've got any more questions about HID conversions, retrofits, or anything lighting, he responds pretty quickly to emails.
I ordered a 55W HID conversion off EBay AU
and converted my IPF XS900.. Pretty simple conversion with slimline internal ballast... Pic is with my low beams and the HID IPF .... Crazy bright
Found these at a TruckStop a number of months ago....projectors in a rectangular housing look pretty sick, and with an HID conversion the cut-off line will be perfect.
Not a huge fan of the 6-LED's around the outer edge though.
