Hi Jason,

I recently posted my iPod set up on the boards and included a few pics. HERE is a link. Maybe it will help...

For the record, I am a novice and sought advice and ideas from Jon and Barry before tackling the project. So far, no problems and I'm really happy with it.

Alot of powered computer speakers run off of 12v dc. For cheap decent tunes, get a set of those and hard wire them in. Specially with an ipod or other mp3 player. MUCH less current drain than head unit, amp, speakers, etc.

Forward progress? I sure hope so. More hiccups as usual but it appears it is still on the way. Just at a substantially increased cost. Looks to be headed to Oregon for a resto while I'm in school.

So once I get this all figured out are there any other cool rigs in Colombia that we may want in this country? I never saw any of the older 70's series but I'm sure they are there. Anything under 25 years is a no go so it really only leaves 84's and 85's for the 70 series.

That's not the only good news for you. the LX got front and rear bumpers installed yesterday with $800 worth of sliders, $2500 worth of suspension parts, and a ton of other misc parts in the rear.

It was great having you for a few days. Tell the better half she needs to come with you next time for a few days of R&R

Haha Joe, Yeah that might have to come off soon.

Al I need to figure out the size of the bolt for the front part of the passenger side slider and have you send them to me. With all of the bolts lieing around there some of them must be the same.

ITS HERE

Well it finally made it. It is safe and sound in my dads garage back in Oregon. I'll have to have them drive it out to the dunes and take a Oregon or bust picture. If all goes well I might actually get to see it for a few hours in September and then work on it this Christmas.

The only picture I have as of now. They didn't have time to play with it today other than to tell me it appears two vents are missing from the hardtop but maybe they are somewhere. That and the battery is dead and they think it is out of gas. But they were able to jump it and drive it up on the trailer. Hopefully they can get it tuned up and out on the road. My little brother already wants to take the top off and use it out in the dunes and on the beach.
It arrived.webp

Congrats dude!!!

... the part about the lil brother rippin up the dunes scares me though :D

Sweet Jason. I just hate that after all this work you still have to wait to enjoy it.

Roger,

I hope to get to enjoy it a bit in December if I go home for Christmas. Head out to the dunes and hit up some of the trails in the forrest out our backyard. Other than that I will be waiting until my next PCS around September next year. Hopefully somewhere near Ft. Lewis Washington or even better Ft. Carson Colorado. Ohh well. I've waited this long might as well wait some more.

She is up an running and doing well. Needs quite a bit of work and they might start tearing it apart in the next few weeks. Right now it is just going to be a bit of mechanical and a lot of paint and body work. Maybe some shackles and some new treads and it will stay like it is for quite some time. Can't wait to take it out in the dunes in September.
